If kids keep getting sick after having been sanitized, I’m going to say maybe the sanitizer doesn’t work.
I came here to post this, glad I searched it out first.
Complete speculation, but given the absolute why, people online were guessing it was to do something stupid like throw them in a dumpster and take pictures and claim clinics did it.
OK, I guess this has been a thing for a while because I saw this article this morning on my FB feed and when I started googling for it, I got articles from 2020 at least.

Wow. That seems like an Onion headline. Props for creativity, but
Next thing you know the Monkeys will be demanding Union representation
I don’t see the shame in training monkeys to pick coconuts.
How is this any worse than the millenia old practices of using oxen as farm animals, or horses for police or recreational uses, or dogs for shepherding use?
Successfully? Good for him
I’m sure the PETA folks who found this would agree with you that those practices should also stop.
The animal welfare movement (ASPCA and similar) was started by people upset by the treatment of horses who drew carts, i believe.
Without oxen a furlong or acre wouldn’t exist
..and access to typewriters.
I think the concern is whether the animals are treated humanely. Note that in Lucy’s article on the history of the ASPCA the founder quit his job to start the ASPCA after witnessing a horse being beaten. And he started an ambulance for injured horses… which you can plainly see in the sketch was powered by… other horses.
So it’s not that all use of animal labor is wrong… it’s whether the animals are treated humanely.
That said, I’m sure that some people are against all forms of animal labor. I recall a poster on AO who was adamant that beekeepers were bad.
Or cows as deliciously marbled filets?
Or as a form of dietary supplements.

Some time ago, PETA had a billboard up along one stretch of local road that showed a picture of a dog and a pig and asked “Why love one and eat the other?” [I love both, FWIW; cuz bacon is tasty!]
Ironically, the next billboard down answered the question: “Help end hunger!”

ASPCA seems like a good organization. PETA seem like nutburgers to me.
Stu & my theory has long been most of these vegans never learned about proper nutrition, and are missing loads of nutrients, and their brains don’t function properly.
Stu was a strict vegetarian when it was more difficult (no Whole Foods!), so he had to research a bit to make sure his hair wouldn’t fall out or he’d go nuts, etc. He was doing it for his health, so he wasn’t necessarily against ingesting animal-based foods, but as it was, he managed for over 20 years before going back to an omnivorous diet.
Yeah, most SW fights aren’t very long.
Maybe this should be in the irony thread?
