The thing that gives it away as some sort of linguistic prank is that the plural of “storey” is allegedly “storeys”, which is patently ridiculous. Good try UK/Australia, but you’re not fooling me.

Regina Barzilay, PhD was working as a computer scientist, using AI to interpret dead languages, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She and Mass General Brigham radiologist Constance Lehman, MD, PhD, decided to explore how AI can predict the disease.

Not exactly wtf. Really a classic story. But made me smile because what could possibly be more esoteric than dead languages or more immediately necessary than cancer prediction???

Perhaps we should all find a better use for our skills.

Just to double down on the WTF.

Tickets behind her stage have now gone on sale here in Vancouver for her last three shows. These tickets cost about $15 each as the ticket holders will not be able to see Swift perform and probably not see the giant screens either. I can understand paying $15 to be part of the experience but these tickets are being resold with asking prices of over $1500!

For my part, I am going to watch Martin Scorsese’s documentary on The Beatles’ 1964 visit to the US tomorrow night. As crazy as their reception was, there was not the ridiculous ticket resale nonsense there is now.

I suspect 25% of the fun of a ts concert is in the crowd. That’s worth a few bucks.

I know a few people who have gone/are going who are adults taking their kids, and the adults want to go to.

I saw the eras movie in the theater, and I get it. I can see how the concert is worth it to some people.

That reminds me of the time my friend from England was visiting. She went to the ATM and was like “What? That’s really how you spell check?”

I doubt if Canadian authorities will be able to impress Trump with that big a haul here.

Mods, can we move the “Are alternative meats good or bad?” to it’s own thread? Clearly we all have a lot to say.

What’s more alarming is the community’s response. They stand by him because he’s a nice good looking guy and gave the nurses jewelry. Yeah he may have killed a few people with dodgy medical practice but we like him.

Not sure if I was reading too much into it but it seems like he may have changed patients charts to DNR then euthanized them while not referring the case to other specialists who may have been able to save them.
