Musks nazi salute

Culture is belonging

If that is what you need, go ahead and believe it.

Kool-Aid sure does taste good, eh?

Corporate America is the one paying for that cheap immigrant labour. It seems bizarre and nonsensical that you’re blaming this on the liberal left.

When he does a Nazi salute, it’s a Roman salute/throwing his heart

When he talks about preserving culture as keeping the identity of the people of a nation pure, he’s just talking about national values

When he speaks at AfD rallies, uhh ignore that, pretend it’s unrelated to the Nazi I meant Roman salute

Remind me what a Roman salute is and explain to me why being the salute adopted by Italian fascists makes it ok.

The paper-thin theory is that he was recently watching the movie Gladiator (or some other movie about gladiators) and he saw a Roman salute. Some ableists say, “well, because he’s autistic, he can’t possibly understand the context of what he did!

I think a big part of what gets lost in any of these comparisons of Musk/Trump/Right wing/Nazis is that because they are not targeting Jews/Israel that the same 1930s ideas are not really at work today in all these groups. The fundamentals of nationalism and the dehumanizing groups of people all exist in similar ways and we are seeing a a dramatic shift in what treatment is acceptable for those scapegoats.

In some context, especially in the Antebellum South of the US, those norms, “society”, and institutions revolved strongly around race.

This.

Culture is great when it includes norms like food, dress, celebrations, traditions, etc…

Unfortunately culture is also often used as a justification for hatred, racism, misogyny, cruelty, genital mutilation, violence,…

The consensus in Quebec, which has actually been expressed quite clearly by the leader of the parti quebecois, is that wokeness is a pathway to mass immigration and multiculturalism. The basic idea is as follows: if you even dare to question immigration policy then you are automatically a white supremacist (nazi) and you should feel ashamed of yourself. Of course this is a very hard sell in Quebec because we don’t have white guilt. So what they do in anglophone Canada is push the narrative that the land was stolen from the indigenous and the anglos did very bad things to the indigenous. This is a type of clever psychological operation that has been hijacked by the globalist elites to turn Canada into some kind of post nation state.

Nice job shifting countries from your original post.

Most of the liberal/woke wing of the democrat party is driven by corporate democrats. Working class people do not benefit from policies pushed by these people, quite the contrary. The real “left” is anti-globalist, anti open border, pro unions, etc.

Sorry, you’re just spewing anti-left stuff while ignoring that corporate America which includes people across the political spectrum, including a very large share of people on the right, are all hiring illegal immigrants to work for them. High numbers of illegal workers are working in red states. Who do you think’s paying them?

ETA: I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the woke college students in Tallahassee that are forcing the large tomato and strawberry farmers in Florida to hire illegal immigrants to work on their farms.

Mexico?
Let’s see if any raids are done in red states.

ICE/CBP have publicized activity in Florida (admittedly a blue part of Florida).

I remember seeing reports online (unverified) of activity in Utah and Texas.

We know who has paid some of them in the past.

nope, culture is belonging:

As long as you follow our whimsical cultural BS.

At the same time, numerous politicians constantly tell them that they live “in the best country in the world,” with institutions that are “morally superior” to “non-egalitarian” American institutions and Quebec's “ethnic” institutions. The circular logic of racism can then become convenient (Memmi): those who reject this “best country in the world,” this multicultural, bilingual, and egalitarian country, are either “ethnics who cannot be assimilated” to universalism or “false Canadians” who hate us and no doubt deserve our hatred. These “unstable,” “dissatisfied” people, who want to destroy the nice balance, justify our legitimate self-defence, which, in turn, is justified by assaults (real or imaginary) by these Others, who try to make us feel guilty.

This is what we’re dealing with: a globalist corporate cabal that is trying to push extreme multiculturalism (a scaling up of the “london model”) and anyone who is against it is branded as a “Nazi” and needs to be cancelled immediately. People in Quebec have been dealing with these labels for decades.

Uh, people aren’t even calling Trump a Nazi. Just the guy who did the Nazi salute which is the actual subject of this thread.

So not the “Liberal left” as you initially claimed.
