IMO, due to historical underrepresentation and intentionally negative representation of minorities in film, whitewashing is usually inappropriate. The reverse is far more situational and that one really doesn’t bother me. It’s a throwaway character for a short while and his race is only an incidental factoid of his legacy (unlike, say, MLK Jr.)

Recently I have seen more racially diverse actors playing historical figures who were white than I have seen white actors playing historical characters that are not white. Often I am fine with it because I feel they chose the best actor though other times it becomes distracting.

According to the article, it’s not the first time he’s forced employees to sleep in the plant after 12-hour shifts. He just said it will be worse this time.

If I was thinking of buying a Tesla, I might reconsider after hearing that they’re manufactured at a plant where they’re sleeping on the manufacturing line. Even if you’re completely fine with the worker exploitation, I’d think you’d be worried about “escapements” (a work I’ve learned from recent Boeing articles)

This has some shades of Conrad Black and Hollinger Inc. Black was a major Hollinger shareholder and used Hollinger like his personal piggy bank with the agreement of its friendly Board. He ended up spending 6.5 years in a US prison for his actions.
