Understood - if the people speak openly against Hamas, they’re likely to get killed.
Sounds like you’re requiring a fairy tale ending where the entire ethnicity of Palestinians makes a joint decision to stand 100% against Hamas, because if we all resist then they can’t kill us all, and until that happens, all Palestinians are complicit.

The Bad Apples argument, I haven’t seen that in a while.

Do the same requirements of repudiating/disassociating from persons with expressed genocidal intent apply equally to Hamas and the Israeli government?

I think the Bad Apples argument can be valid. A great woman once remarked that only 50% or so of Republicans are truly deplorable.

This gets to the heart of the issue. Palestinians are in a horrible situation, and have been ever since they elected Hamas as their rulers.
Freedom doesn’t come easily. Yes, it’s tragic, but many Palestinians will likely die in order for them to be free. As I’ve said many times, Hamas is far worse for the Palestinians than Israel is.
Al Arabiya is reporting that a 60-day ceasefire agreement has been reached, and will be announced shortly.
Hamas celebrates shooting that killed Israeli mother en route to deliver baby
https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/hamas-celebrates-death-of-israeli-mother-gunned-down-en-route-to-deliver-baby/
An Israeli woman on the way to a hospital to give birth was shot and killed in the West Bank on Wednesday, in an attack that Hamas applauded as a “heroic act.”
As she and her husband drove to the hospital, a Palestinian gunman opened fire on their car, according to the Israeli military.
It was last week. A real tragedy. The IDF found the shooter. When they tried to arrest him, he ran towards them screaming, holding up a bag. He was shot and killed.
Sadly, the baby, which was delivered via c-section, died this morning.
IFYP, and I think it’s difficult to argue against it.

Utterly devastating.
And he is right. The international hammer is about to fall on Israel and there will be no going back.

Isn’t the government clearly doing a, b, and c with their intentional blocking of food aid?
I believe their responses will be
A) There isn’t starvation, fake news
B) Hamas steals the aid anyway

I had written about this a while back. According to international law, if there is reason to believe that the enemy combatants will be taking the food, then you are not required to provide it. It was shown that Hamas was taking the aid, and keeping it away from civilians. They were also resisting deals that included aid which wouldn’t be under their control.
Over the past week or two, Israel set up distribution centers to provide aid, which they’d keep free of Hamas. As I wrote before, Hamas is telling Palestinians that if they accept aid from these locations, they will be punished.
You’ve been claiming the hammer was about to fall on Israel for well over a year now. Hasn’t happened yet.
Take a step back and try to self-reflect on what has just happened:
Germany has told the Israeli Govt that their behavior in Gaza and the West Bank is not acceptable anymore.
Germany ran out of patience.
I assume you understand what that means?

Merz doesn’t strike me as someone who doesnt say what he means. He has been very direct with the US and Ukraine (and he has backed this up with real action).
Scholz was a big fan of just maintaining the status quo (see also what he did with Ukraine issues). He delayed a lot of decisions due to his issues with the coalition he had (caused a lot of political paralysis).
What is likely to happen now is that the EU will reach consensus (previously Germany always took a pro-Israel stance which acted as a blocker) and they will start putting sanctions on the extremist settlers in the West Bank. They have already started doing this but this will widen because the UK, Canada, and a few others will also get involved.
The more hysterical the Israeli Govt gets the more pushback there will be.
