Nope. But I do have a book about the origin and first several decades of the company I work for. Would be a great addition to any collection if the owner of said collection had any clue who we were.

30 or so years ago, I had helped out a friend at Hartford with information on our common product line. As a thank you she sent me a nice pen, with the Elk logo. It was common practice to share accessible information with our competitors, rather than make them find it.
I used to make the Elk dance to distract my kids when they were getting a shot at the doctor. Was upset when I lost the pen. Can’t even remember the friend’s name.

ThermaPen One. I’ve had a cheapo digital meat thermometer for years, it seems to be reasonably accurate but it takes like five seconds to read. Who has time for that???

I love my thermapen. The only downside is that it’s right handed (and I’m left handed.) It’s otherwise basically perfect.

This one on Amazon says it is ambidextrous. Has 4.7 stars with 34.5K ratings. ThermoPro not TermaPen. Is this just a cheap one?
I gave the knockoff ThermoPro and am happy with it. Have never tried to use it left-handed though, so I can’t comment on that piece.
I prefer my probe and wire and separate display thermometer, so that I can use whichever hand I want. Magnetic display so it can stick on what little steel there is (stays on the side of fridge when not in use, probe in a drawer beneath it; grill and oven/range has a steel front).
I have a Weber iGrill if I need that, four probes and Bluetooth. Works like a champ for smoking or roasting things.
Yup, those are awesome! I use them for multiple steaks that will be reverse-seared.
Downside is that I have an android phone, so need to use iPod, iPad, or wife’s iPhone for it.

There is a lot of stuff associated with quilting. Lots of it is not required, just nice to have.
I’ve been seeing people gush about this fabric cutting ruler for forever, it’s called Stripology and it’s $75. I’ve always thought that was absurd for a ruler. It’s a plastic mat with slits in it at every half inch to make cutting faster and more precise.
Well, I finally broke down and bought one. It is a game changer, and I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. It cut down (pun intended) on my cutting time by at least 75%, maybe even closer to 90%. It took me maybe 30 minutes to cut out all the small squares for a quilt, and I probably would have spent the better part of a day on it before.

What’s the longest folks here would be willing to wait? For something like this, I guess I might order if I could get it in a year, this isn’t much money and it would be a fun surprise when it finally arrived. 30 years is just ridiculous. Just based on how often people move, in 30 years there will be an article on random shipments showing up on people’s doorsteps.
I did once wait a year and a half for a briefcase, so there’s a data point.
If the person dies in the meantime it should add some spice to the reading of the will to find out who inherits the croquette order.
