I am getting my husband a soda stream for Christmas (gift from the kids, it’s the loophole in the “we aren’t getting each other anything right?” agreement), because he goes through about a gallon of sparkling water a day. Canisters of CO2 have to be cheaper than what I’m paying right now for sparkling water.
Any good flavor recs?

Personally, I like the non-sweetened (“original”) lemon, lime, grapefruit, and orange.
These things aren’t marketed as soda water addeners but I think they’re perfectly cromulent for that usage.

I don’t have this grinder, but I do have a hand grinder I use daily. It takes up minimal space. As the only coffee drinker in the house it suits my needs.

We were about to buy a soda stream but then this article came out. According to the study, the ph level from soda stream unflavored water is low enough to damage your teeth enamel whereas store-bought unflavored sparkling water is safe -

Yeah, I’m just talking about the dry packets. I add two after making the bubbly water. Pro tip: they don’t need to be the same flavor.

Bought some outdoor fans for the patio. Needed to have steel blades because they will be close to the extra-strong heaters, and I didn’t want plastic ones to melt or wooden ones to catch on file.

New grill. I haven’t really been in the market, my 2007 Weber still works. It doesn’t get hot enough to sear but it still works well enough.
But I went to Ace today for something and they had a Genesis 325 with the stainless grates marked down from $1,070 to $750, and I had $25 in Ace rewards.

Yup. My old Vermont Castings is still on the side-yard. Works, but you have to hand-light it. Someone could simply buy an ignition for it.
I don’t want my neighborhood to be a place where rag-and-bones (and possibly burglars) come around every day taking stuff that is left on the sidewalk. We’ve pretty much replaced all our patio furniture, so it all needs a good home, too.

At that price you couldn’t afford NOT to buy it.
But a Weber? I just replace the burner and flavour bars once in a while. Good as new.

I see a Breville - The Barista Express for 699 and a DeLonghi - La Specialista Artr for 499 (reg 699) at Best Buy. Costco had the DeLonghi Magnifica Evo for 699.

Pretty much. I told myself I’d get a few more years out of the old one, even though I wanted a little better searing and a little more cooking surface. But you don’t see hardly any big discounts, so when I realized I could get one for $350 off MSRP it was a quick decision.
I don’t know much about the DeLonghi. Breville bought Baratza, so the grinder in that Breville now uses Baratza parts, good grinder.
Don’t know your wants or counter situation. Breville also makes the Bambino, it’s $300 and sometimes goes on sale for a bit less. That and a Turin SK40 or Baratza Encore ESP (both are $200 machines) would get you going.
I’m not an expert but Reddit really likes the Breville machines or the Gaggia Classic Pro Evo, and those two grinders for an ‘entry level’ setup.
