Something like 95% of commercial pilots use Luggage Works. Not cheap, and a little heavier than TravelPro, which seems to be the top choice for FAs.
If a soft bag is acceptable, this is worth a look, I have a TB backpack and it’s fantastic.

A large bag is just too much - there’s laundry facilities at hotels / AirBnBs for a reason. Medium sized is perfect for my travel needs.
Whew! Ex$pen$ive! Very nice though.
I like the Maveric from LuggageWorks! 22" is just fine ($500)
One nice thing about LW is they sell parts. If the handle breaks or a wheel bearing seizes up you can replace them for a reasonable price.
They got a lot pricier and trendier after I bought mine
Back window for my Truck (GMC Canyon). Loading a tent and I pushed it up against the window too hard. $900. Luggage will have to wait a month now!
My 20yo leaf blower is leaking gas. It’s not a simple gasket, fixing it requires a special part. Maybe I can get one from Echo.
I think it’s time to go electric. DeWalt has one for $180. Or, for $20 more I can also get a weedeater. I think I’m gonna do that. And sell my Stihl weedeater and chainsaw. Next time I need a chainsaw I’ll get an electric one of those.
Then I’m down to just my Honda lawn mower as far as needing gas goes.
The electric one might disappoint you depending on the gas one you have now. The 40V blower I have can blow out the garage or the sidewalks after mowing, but isn’t going to move much more than a few leaves from the landscaping.
Yeah, electrics not quite up to commercial grade gas backpack blower, but it does well enough for homeowner usage. And i can use it inside to corral ballons in the vaulted ceilings.
If you’re talking about the wash basin, hand soap and extra towels to roll the clothes in, I use them frequently.
might look to see if there is a rental store for these things.
especially if you don’t use one all that often.
$70 for the laundry sevices. I am
AOK with that. Well…
So I got a 20v DeWalt leaf blower and trimmer. My prior leaf blower was an Echo I got in like 2006. The Echo is a little more powerful but I almost never use full power. And the DeWalt weighs half as much, my wife said she will use the new one.
The trimmer seems nice, I didn’t test it much. I’m sure it won’t match the performance of my Stihl gas trimmer, but I’m not clearing a pasture, I have a third of an acre here. It does spin the other direction compare to my Stihl, that will take a little time to get used to.
Oh man, I got the new string trimmer out to edge the sidewalks. The old Stihl was unwieldy and a little heavy, the DeWalt is so much easier for edging. And I’m sure my neighbors appreciate how quiet it is.
I think that both my gas leaf blower and gas trimmer had more power but I rarely used either at full throttle, these cordless guys are fine.
Minor complaints: the line that comes with the trimmer is garbage, I had to stop three times to take the spool out because it snapped. And the 4ah batteries don’t last too long. I have three such batteries so maybe I just grab two when I head out, or maybe I spend $100 on a big 8ah guy.
I wouldn’t mind a corded one. Light, but a 50ft cord can be unwieldy. And accidentally cutting it would result in a litany of curses from yours truly.
I pay $100/mo for a weekly service, vs an hour per week of my time.
Dude, buying a cordless hedge trimmer was wise. I think we’ve cut through 2-3 extension cords.
I’ve got a third of an acre, it’s a little too much for corded lawn equipment. Plus on the back side of the house there’s one outlet. There were zero out front but when we did the porch I added like six.
I do not have that much lawn and edging. Pool and concrete take up the backyard.
And for SoCal, replacing with drought-resistent vegetation is the next job.
I did run 100 feet of drip, since the concrete replacement required the irrigation to stop working.
Next job, I guess.
Good call. Watering is likely expensive for you, drought tolerant native plants ftw. The Great American Lawn isn’t all it is supposed to be, despite what Hank Hill might tell you.
I got the DeWalt trimmer and blower combo. It came with 2 4ah batteries and I bought a 2 pack of off brand 7ah batteries to augment.
I do hate the spool and line. I need to find a replacement that is better. I’m constantly stopping to fix the string.
I have a corded edger, blower, and hedge trimmer. The corded blower has more power than the cordless but for most of my needs the cordless is fine. Luckily, I have only ever barely nicked the extention cord with either the edger or hedge trimmer, never actually damaged the wires. And I wouldn’t think a corded trimmer would cut through the cord.
It will. As will a corded recip saw (although that was the person I lent it to’s fault).
I use either a steel cutting head on my trimmer for thick stuff, or aero-flex plastic trimmer blades. I got tired of messing with spools/line.
My hedge trimmer is still corded (and all my non-garden power tools). All the rest of garden power (blower/edger/string trimmer/lawn mower) is battery.
