I am going to buy this (these) today and reasons why

Electric lawn mowers come with large batteries, so if youre buying new batteries anyway…

I bought a dewalt mower a couple years ago. Absolutely love it. Its about 90 percent of a gas mower so it almost always works perfect. If the grass is wet or a bit long its a bits slower but not a deal breaker for me.

And i use the big batteries in my sidewalk edger and other tools.

Moving chitty stone from that spot to an empty and buried sewage tank. A friend is in between jobs and is helping me out for some cash.

buying some Magic: The Gathering cards tonight. It’s Pre-release! ("pre-"release because the offical “release” is next Friday. Which I don’t really care about. Regardless…) Everyone gets 6 packs, makes a small deck, plays with others and hopefully you win a couple of matches and earn a few more packs. Good times.

I have a Travelpro rolling duffel. Travelpro was recommended to me. A rolling duffel is my preferred bag style, instead of a suitcase.

And I say this:

I need a new wardrobe, most notably in tops. So I spent $2k at Quince. Might end up returning some. Mostly blouses and sweaters, with a couple dresses, jumpsuits, and pants in the mix.

I don’t really believe Quince is a super ethical company like they claim to be, but I like their quality and model better than most other companies. And I like the fit of their clothing.

Are you staring at my gut?!?! I’m working on it!

Trader Joe’s has these cute (small) pastel bags.
Because my wife told me to, as she is busy when the next shipment comes, at around noon to my local store. BRB.

Success! Got in line about ten minutes before open, finished did the daily crossword and small sudoku and large kenken, bought the bags, and left. Nothing left to do today. Except work.

Rearranged garage a little (filled up both garbage bins, so, success). Goal was to erect a bike rack that was held by a beam between the garage doors, so I moved two large racks away from the between area.
The bike rack I had was given to me, what, 20 years ago by a wife’s cousin.
So, I open the box, and voila! only two arms for the bikes instead of four, and only one bolt instead of eight.
I call the number on the box and got someone trying to sell me an alert bracelet.
Checked the website, and gone.
Googled the brand name, found several web pages noting out of stock.
Luckily, Home Depot has what appears to be an exact match by a brand named… “unbranded.”
Picking up later this week.
I might check the website on that box and see if I can order the arms/bolts only and return the box unopened. $80, so let’s cheap-actuary it.

Man, that must feel nice. I tried a month or so ago and only filled a couple of bags, I need to get out there again, it’s too packed.

Managed to buy some dance shoes that fit my giant feet. Most brands stop in a women’s 11, but I guess the queer dance community here is sufficiently large that I had multiple options in a 13. And at less than half the price of anything I found online.

I am extremely proud of the fact that I can park 2 cars in my 2-car garage. Exceptional for my neighborhood.

Mine is 24x24, so it’s a little oversized. Can’t fit two cars, we have one car, a Vespa, three bikes, a 5’ work bench, a load of tools, and lawn & garden stuff. It’s not packed with one car but I’m pretty far off from getting two in there.

3 garage spots, 3 cars! The real secret has been this:

https://www.costco.com/saferacks-4-ft.-x-8-ft.-adjustable-height-overhead-garage-storage-rack-and-accessories-kit.product.100006897.html

Crap that was previously piled up along the walls is now off the floor, and all hanging above the cars high enough to still walk under.

They are on sale now, and probably about half what they would cost elsewhere. I bought a 2-pack during COVID for maybe 219?

Jeepers. $400 in canada. Thanks obama.

Doesnt seem to hard to make. Got a steel shop locally, and a buddy with a welder.

“bought” a repair to my minivan [2007 Honda Odyssey, 220k miles]. $6500 in total, basically all engine stuff. This was one of those Money Pit-type situations, where the original estimate was $1,700, but when they got in there they saw more that needed to be done, for another $1,500, and maybe another $600, but, whoops, once again, we need a new thingy and then a phalange and then another gasket and a Hinkenberger and… it just kept adding up.

The bill does say there’s about a $1,300 discount on labor, not sure if that’s real or not but at least it mollifies the feelings slightly.

Frankly, if he’d told me it was going to be $6,500 to fix that one little problem when I first took it in, I probably would have said thanks but no thanks and bought a replacement vehicle. I could have gotten a similar model with maybe 100,000 fewer miles at only $1k more, or a different style as there’s no real need for a minivan now that the kids are driving on their own. But I’m in it now, so I’m counting on this update to get me an additional 100k miles.

Looks like I have my new camping van! Time to trick out the interior with a hammock, some bookshelves, and perhaps a refrigerator and portable cookstove so I can make roadtrips and not have to pay for hotels.

Uh-huh. And how much will it cost to save all that money?
Is this “girl math”?
