If Kushner’s actions are tied to Trump and worthy of impeachment, I’d be happy to have Trump impeached over it.
If Kushner’s actions were his own and were illegal, I’d be happy to have Kushner alone go to jail for it with no penalties for Trump, despite me despising the man.
If Kushner’s actions were legal but unethical, it would annoy me but I would not clamor for him to go to jail for legal actions, though I may advocate for changes to the law in the future.
I wish the GOP had a similar thought process rather than “smear shit on every surface in sight.” For the record, I feel exactly the same about Joe Biden and Hunter. Couldn’t give a shit about either of them, and if Biden is corrupt, send him packing in disgrace.
How many years has Comer had this shocking, concrete evidence? Any chance we’ll see it before 2028?

Less than a year. Comer has only been the chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability since early 2023. He’s following the same process that Pelosi did when impeaching Trump for the first time.
It’s posted online and there are certainly some interesting findings, even in addition to the ones I’ve previously posted here.

In 2018, James Biden received $600,000 in loans from, Americore—a financially distressed and failing rural hospital operator.
According to bankruptcy court documents, James Biden received these loans “based upon representations that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors’ and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.”
On March 1, 2018, Americore wired a $200,000 loan into James and Sara Biden’s personal bank account – not their business bank account.
And then on the very same day, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check from this same personal bank account to Joe Biden.
Comer has already presented sufficient evidence to open a formal impeachment proceeding, where we hopefully can find out more details, or perhaps that, improbably, the entire thing is a Russian hoax.
In a hypothetical world where Trump wins the 2024 election (lol), I imagine that Democrats would do something similar with Kushner or any of the various other shady dealings Trump and his family are or have been involved. Somehow, I think the tone on this forum would be dramatically different. Only Trumptards would pretend there’s no evidence.

But let’s be honest. Influence peddling is a central feature of representative government. It’s foundational. The whole system expects and relies on it.
If you wanted to play by the rules of the first Trump impeachment it’s also “quid pro quo” in the case of Ukraine and Biden is similarly on tape admitting to it. There’s even ignoring subsequent subpoenas by both parties. In the case of Trump, it earned him an additional obstruction allegation.
Interestingly, Trump’s quid pro quo involved withholding funds unless Ukraine investigated Biden’s alleged quid pro quo. I’ve never been more confident that an impeachment proceeding is warranted here.
I’d also argue that a formal impeachment proceeding would already be underway for Biden, if it didn’t have the effect of propping up Donald J. Trump. If Trump were in jail and Nikki Haley were the obvious nominee, it would be happening. Mitt Romney would probably hand-deliver the articles of impeachment himself.
Comer is a hack. This entire statement is a blatant lie.

Many US politicians are hacks, Comer included. It doesn’t automagically mean they can’t conduct a proper investigation and uncover evidence, though.
