Our little one was doing some homework before a tennis class yesterday with her friends, and they are working on their math skills using Doodle Math (done on a tablet).
Her & her friends were so excited about getting the prizes for answering the questions on Doodle correctly.
You couldnt have paid me enough to do that at 6 lol I was more about sports and fun at that age.
It was nice to see them so happy about math in general.

My son got into his top school choice! This is the only school in the district that offers IB courses in addition to some AP. That’s not the reason it’s our top choice, and right now I don’t think he’d want that academic challenge, but he’s capable of getting top grades if he applies himself and I want him to have the option to excel.

Lovely. A finch?
Looks like a male house finch. Per my old 4th ed Petersen’s Eastern Birds, originally a westerner, released in 1940 close to NYC, spread extensively in the east by 1980. I see them at least every week, if not daily. Could have made it to Mathman’s by now. A similar bird, purple finch, is typically further north in the summer.

Didn’t know whether this article belonged in the sad or happy thoughts thread as it has elements of both. Going with happy as the two branches of this family finally met. Incredible story that could only happen in America.

we have TWO robins nests - one on either side of the garage. mama just sitting in them. couple babies in one. haven’t seen the babies in the other (yet)
