My motto this year is work hard but push for as much time off as I can get.
Not much point in making lots of money and not be able to enjoy it. Time to splurge a bit on travelling. The office will be fine without me for a while (its a quiet time of the year anyways).
Wikipedia confirms, but with the additional info that all 57 inmates who assisted were already trustees. Not stated, but likely IMO, is that only trustees could help. (Likely because if all inmates could help I doubt that no non-trustees would have helped)
I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, even though my wife and I greatly prefer the small ship / outdoor adventure cruises. She and I first did 4 (maybe 5?) Windjammer Barefoot cruises in the Caribbean in the late 1970’s or early 1980’’s. Windjammer went belly up. Uncruise is now available and we liked it. Maybe we’ll do another with them.
(Uncruise is much fancier than Windjammer was. On every Windjammer trip we did, the plastic juice cups for breakfast were the wine “glasses” for dinner. But Uncruise is still pretty primitive compare to big cruise ships. The only one of those we did was Disney. The Dream, I think.)
Our Windjammers ranged from about 60 to 220 passengers. Our 3 Uncruises (2 different ships) have both been a maximum of just over 70 passengers, but I think only one of the 3 has full.
Oh yes, another Windjammer memory, and a Happy Thought nonetheless. No private showers on most of the boats, and the toilet was essentially in the shower stall. Toilet paper roll had to be very high, above shower level, to avoid getting soaked. [Not communal showers, and locked from inside, but for almost all passengers no individually assigned showers or bathrooms.]
Next week I’m at Uwaterloo marking their high school Euclid math test. I look forward to this every year. Three days in a room full of people who love math and are all smarter than me lol. Plus they’ll have some breaks where they bring in a prof or two to do weird math tricks, those are always cool.
