Original post was in annoyed thoughts, but outcome goes here:
Based on the number of systems affected and how long it was taking the mechanic to get it sorted out, I was mentally prepared for a big bill involving a computer. Got out for <$450, so I call that a win.
Score!
I got a bunch of diapers for free from amazon…which is relevant since I’m hosting a diaper party for one of my fishing with nerds buddy’s.
And this morning, I scored a $550 car seat for the granddaughter.
OK, relevant to the diaper party.
One of my fishing with nerds students (now long graduated), is from India. He got married about a year ago, brought his bride over from India. Now they’re pregnant, due first week of June I think.
So I’m doing a diaper party for him. But she’s pretty much alone here in Canada, so no baby shower for her. that’s sad. I dunno, they’re pretty active in their mosque, will someone at their mosque do something? I don’t think there’s really anything I can offer in that department.
We are currently on our annual family ski vacation. I am the earliest riser by far so the parents of our two youngest granddaughters deposit them with me early in the morning and go back to bed. Best part of my holiday is reading to them before sunrise.
Can confirm. When we are together with my daughter/granddaughter I do the same thing. I get the granddaughter out of bed when she wakes up, he have some breakfast together and then read a book then some Rachel. I love it, granddaughter loves it, and everyone else gets to sleep in.
Annual performance review today, didn’t get fired. I’m like @NerdAlert, I’ve never gotten a bad review but still get nervous. I’ve always been bouncing between exceeds expectations and meets expectations, depending on whatever factors. Good enough.
I bought some mushrooms earlier this week that needed to get used, so I did a cheesy polenta using pantry ingredients topped with mushrooms in sauce. Kicked ass.
