Just got my tax filing approved. Have to deal with both self employed and W2 income. I wasn’t too early this year, but at least it’s done now for the year.
It’s a little crazy how small the childcare tax deduction is. Probably the government wants to get one parent to be a stay at home parent or something like that. Ah well…

My son has finally learned how to ride a bike, after years of starting and giving up. His anxiety has really gotten the better of him on it in the past, but he was able to push through it this time.

Two things related to my annual bonus. One, they used to be paid in October, now they are paying 80% in April and 20% in October. Our revenue stream is really weird. Two, I just saw mine and it’s about 75% higher than expected, insane. We had a great year in 2023 but not THIS great. No idea yet why they are so high.

I don’t get company bonuses, but I’m getting some extra cash shortly. One of the primary companies I work with pays a sliding scale based on volume, and when you hit a new tier, they backpay at that new level from the beginning of the year. they sent me an email start of april saying I was almost at a new tier, and by the time I received it I was already at the new tier. So, ka-ching!.
The company rep also told me I’m top two producer for the company in the province (the guy who has higher numbers is a good friend of mine) and I’m top 10 in Canada for the company. And I’m just getting started ramping up on volume. I expect I’ll be at or near their highest producer in the country by the end of the year.
