Mum looks a lot like Bingo.
Our little one forgot her favourite teddy bear at a house we rented in Tallinn. We bought her a Paddington bag but she forgot to put him inside when we left for the ferry to Helsinki.
Luckily, I was able to communicate with the owner (she was a super nice woman) and she was able to pass it on to a relative that was flying to London a few weeks later so I could get it back for the little one.
Very happy but also…being a dad is a lot of work.
“Unfortunately because we didn’t bring Teddy back with us on the ferry and plane, Teddy will have to walk back. Should take a few weeks.”
or get someone to take pictures of Teddy having a great vacation, but he is now ready to come home
I’ve contemplated making a 3 hour round trip drive to home and back to retrieve a beloved item for the kid for one night. Fortunately I was able to convince the kid it’d be okay for one night but there was lamenting.
We’ve paid an Uber delivery for a favorite blanket once and refused to pay for it another time.
Tell kiddo that the beloved item is on a long trip with @The_Polymath kid’s bear.
At least we knew it was at home. If it’d been lost on a trip, we’d all be anxious about its recovery.
Took my Dewalt electric lawnmower in for warranty service like 3+ months ago. They were waiting for a part that was backordered and I guess never actually going to come in so…they gave me a brand new lawn mower! Noice.
Reconciling accounts and couldn’t figure out why I had more money in savings than I expected.
Nope, not a refund from college for one of the bonus kids - that would state it was from their school.
… oh, yeah - that was the overpayment by Nissan to make sure the vehicle loan was paid off, which matches up with what they said they were going to pay, so that’s ours to keep.
@JFG i made this for you.
Need a emoji version of this.
I’ve made two and a half llama blocks today, and made one yesterday as well. I could end the weekend at six llama blocks, which would put me at over 50% of the blocks in total for this quilt (I’d made two before this weekend and there are 15 total).
One of the Syrian refugee families my temple sponsored right before Trump was inaugurated is now established enough that they are going to sponsor some of their other relatives.
Hope it’s not paywalled for you.
Coverage of success of Philadelphia library program where kids read to therapy dogs.
If you’re one of those people with the McDonald’s app and thought, “I might like some fries today,” great news.
Free medium fries today, in the app, no purchase necessary. I guess usually it’s $1 minimum purchase necessary for that, every Friday, but the e-mail I have specifically says “no purchase necessary.”
I did not need to know this but picked some up on the way home to split with a happy kid.
So I have a decent computer in a large gaming case that’s been sitting in my office for half of last year. No idea what to do with it. Not high enough end to be worth much, and I’m too cheap to sell it at the price it’d probably go for. Based on another thread here, I’m going to install mame on it so I can play joust/gauntlet every once in a while. It can sit under my second desk out of the way no problem when not in use.
So, nice that’s doing something. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the couple extra laptops I have.
