Why don’t Canadian’s rake their forests better?
And why hasn’t Trump drawn a sharpie line to keep the smoke north of the border?

tRump should slap a tariff on imported smoke.
Republicans have done a great job running the US and managing their international relations so it is understandable that they think they could easily fix forest management in another country or a blue state.

You were clairvoyant. He is threatening that now.
Nice that he’s instituting a new tax on Americans to fight climate change.
Convenient he forgot all the times US wildefires carries into Canadian air space.
Opinion piece at Bloomberg about how the Trump admin cancelling green projects costs the US financially, not just environmentally. (Link embedded in first sentence b/c the gift token is so long)
And we have a 4th this summer. Highly unusual occurrence.
Brutal. My London daughter and her daughter flew to London last night for a wedding on Saturday. They have been spoiled by our relatively cool Vancouver summer weather (only one 30C+ day so far). And no A/C in London as they stay at family’s places.
French wildfires are now expanding.
I hope they’re done by next year. I’m planning a trip.
Maybe bring a broom.
We shouldn’t have to do anything about carbon emissions until China does something about theirs! /s
And coal is the source of 69% of India’s power generation.
This seems like a major move by BP.
I think BP recently sold their share in a project to start developing oil in the Flemish pass off NL. Both the provincial Liberals and PCs are all in on this project.
I’m not convinced its going to happen as the economics seems messy. The project is going to cost a lot to develop and its hard to see where oil prices are going as EVs become more common in Europe and Asia, and to a lesser extent here. Further, there are less complex projects that could be pursued elsewhere.
A good friend of ours was a research scientist at BP in the UK in the renewables area. His area disappeared after BP realized the returns were better in oil and gas. That is now their focus.
I think it is a shortsighted strategy but short term profits rule. Diversification into renewables seemed like a reasonable long term hedge.
