Canadian courts have frozen access to funding through the new platforms. Bitch and whine all you want American republicans, our country, our rules.
for your parenting expertise thread
It’s the semi’s. It’s basically letting them protest from inside their homes.
Horses no match for trucks. We need tanks.
It’s “fuck around and find out,” not “fuck around and get a reward for it.”
It will be interesting to see if disruption occurs in the US due to a copycat protest. I don’t think there will be much sympathy to a new disruption in the supply chain or source of inflation.
Shut up and drive and do your job should be the response to a freedumb convoy in the US, and the drivers should all lose their jobs, because that is what happened to an NFL player kneeling during the national anthem.
It would be funny if there was a copycat action in the US. We could then say that the caravans weren’t coming to the US, they were actually formed in the US.
Right wing media now seems to be for foreign caravans.
“Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly said a briefing he received from Canada’s intelligence agencies underscored the continuing trucker protest’s sophisticated tactics, which he said included a flood of U.S.-based phone calls to the local 911 service that nearly crashed the city’s emergency response system.”
I’m fine with the truckers in Ottawa and the border closures going into the states
You might be surprised at just how many “drivers” are owner/operators and are contract workers (not employees).
Fine, seize thier vehicles and thier commercial licenses, same effect.
The semis themselves are in the range of $100-150k USD. Start pulling their registration, people will remember they have to be elsewhere quite fast.
As they should. You can march on Washington all you want but parking your truck to block traffic is not a Constitutionally protected form of protest.
Ontario is enacting emergency measures act increasing fines and allowing imprisonment for blocking critical infrastructure or emergency services access.

I’m not saying that there’s no mechanisms to create incentives for many drivers, just that “threating their employment” isn’t likely to be effective for many.
And the one’s that have “time” to participate in these sorts of shenanigans likely have modifications that would put their rig’s value closer to the $200k mark, if not more.
I’m reading reports of a US based version of the Freedom Convoy starting in Los Angeles on March 5 and driving to Washington DC.
No word yet on the Rubber Duck, Pig Pen or the 11 friends of Jesus in the chartreuse microbus.
Building upon an earlier post, it is likely the convoy will get stuck in LA traffic and get no further. May be smarter to start it in Las Vegas.
