I was just looking at a Google map with traffic. (Friday Feb 11, 2022 at 5:00 EST). What’s going on in Emerson ND? I29 is shutdown all the way back to the SD border and I94 about the same distance south into MN. The 101 beltway around Winnipeg has lots of closures and a highway heading NE into Winnipeg. It looks like they’re putting a chokehold on Winnipeg.

Things move so slowly. If injunctions were necessary, they should have been secured immediately after each occupation. In any event I would have thought our existing laws would have been sufficient to make these folks move on.

I am surprised there is no regulation wrt demonstrations in Canada. In the US, you need a permit if you are going to block streets or pedestrian sidewalks. No permit? Expect some police response.
There are permit requirements in Canada for most demonstrations. Freedom convoy has just ignored all the rules.
Not all of us can expect 85 degree temperatures like you in February.

It’s so cold here right now the sap isnt’ flowing for the maple syrup. Everything’s frozen in the sap buckets.
I would have though February was too early for maple harvest for just that reason. I know very little about it though…
The Ambassador Bridge is currently blockaded by 2 trucks and 1 SUV. I guess they remembered it is chilly or something.
It’s dipping back into the 70s here this week. Might even have a day that doesn’t break out of the 60s.

Tapping starts when the nights are cold and the days are sunny. So generally mid-late february. The way I had it described to me was that the temperature swings act like a pump for the sap.
Of course that means that there’s some days when it’s just cold all the time, so then there’s no sap flowing.
This coming week looks like below freezing at night and close to or just above freezing during the day. So it should be flowing well shortly.

Hopefully the Ambassador Bridge traffic gets moving again by tomorrow.
It looks as if nothing will happen in the Ottawa occupation though. Authorities are content to just let occupiers stay until they get bored and go home.
Very Canadian response. The cold nights will probably dissuade them a bit.
