For my fellow Catholics

I’ll pile on:

I mean, he was a Radical Left Lunatic :registered: guess he didn’t have a Happy Easter though

Interesting that Trump is going to attend the funeral…

Seems odd that the next Pope will be called Other but I guess the rest of the names are old hat by now

Well, we did exhaust the list in the Prophecy of the Popes…

There are also quite high odds that the Pope will be over 70, which I found surprising, although somewhat logical.

For the Catholics – I know for sure it’s an excommunicable offense (back in ye olden days) to bet on the timing of the death of the Pope

not sure if it is to bet on other aspects (such as who the next Pope will be)

About that “prophecy”, unsurprisingly, it’s a highly probable forgery intended to influence a Papal election (I don’t know if it was to influence the one in September 1590 or October 1590… or maybe the one in October 1591… jeez, these guys were dropping like flies)

That could qualify for the “bad data visualizations” thread.

Yeah, I don’t like the donuts.

I plan on doing a different data visualization on the demographics in tomorrow’s STUMP post. I will put it here (won’t be on the continent of birth, tho).

On Brazil time (UK - 4hrs) so woke up early to follow the processions today live.

Looking after security today must have been a real challenge in the Vatican.

I’m a subscriber to The Pillar, and those guys have been sending out podcasts where they had to pause as helicopters were going overhead.

One of them posted this:

Seems that its going to be either an Italian pope or a Philipino one.

Pivot to Asia would make sense as that is where the majority of Catholics are now.

Still, would be quite the change (I am neutral on this as I dont really know the candidates backgrounds well enough)
