UC Irvine has an entire web page devoted to the question “Why Womxn with a ‘X’? [sic],” and worries that the blind may be left out by not realizing it’s spelled with an X.
Most pronounce it like they are saying woman or women, but spell the singular and plural with the ‘x’. However, this raises the question if that actually is truly inclusive; members of the blind community may be left out if there is no audible way for them to hear this distinction.
I’m not sure why people fall for obvious false dichotomies like this. Are voters really this misinformed? Maybe we do need a misinformation governance board?
Are the sanctions even working at all? The Ruble is at a 7 year high vs the USD. Idiot Democrats including the President said in March that sanctions were “crushing the Russian economy” and that “the ruble is reduced to rubble.” Tee hee hee, such delicious rhetoric completely wasted by reality.
I once went to the funeral for a woman who felt so guilty over her abortion she attempted to find solace in addictive behavior, which eventually caused her own death. RIP
I have been to 0 pet funerals. I have only been to funerals for people who have taken in oxygen on their own. That’s the standard for societies for ages.
Sir, this is a thread for Democrats saying the darndest things. In the post you’re responding to, the Democrat says that a fetus doesn’t live, but a cat or dog lives. Whether or not you agree with this point, funerals are not an appropriate barometer to debate this Democrat’s logic.
Going way back up, when book-reading drag queens were mentioned:
You know who doesn’t care if someone is a drag queen if they’re being read a book? Kids. They’re thrilled someone’s reading them a book. Maybe they ask a question about that person, and then it’s “do you want to be my friend” and “want to go swing on the playground?” and “want to see this neat trick I can do?” and so on.
You know who gets their panties in a wad if someone is a drag queen reading a book to kids? Not kids. Especially not adults who aren’t concerned that people don’t “look right” or “don’t do what I think they should.”
If that’s your biggest problem in life to have to deal with, congrats - you’ve got a great life going, fuck your feelings snowflake.
Hi, you seem to be new here. I’d like to introduce you to the United States of America, where the Dunning-Kruger effect is on display every day in increasingly spectacular ways. There’s a reason Americans value feelings as vastly more important than facts, and it’s not because a majority of the population has even subpar critical thinking skills to understand how to process rudimentary information.
The ruble is at a seven year high because nothing is being imported into the country and Russians are not traveling abroad. The result is the Russian government can use foreign currency reserves to buy rubles. Why do you think the ruble is at a seven year high? Do you think foreign investors are buying rubles because they think Russia is a good long term investment?.
This … sounds like currency manipulation. I wonder if Republicans are outraged by it like they were other countries allegedly manipulating their currencies, 2017-2020.
Was talking with somebody recently and they said, “It’s not that I hate drag, it’s just I don’t know how I’d explain it to my kids. Like gay people I can at least explain.”
Told them, “What about, they like how they look when they’re dressed that way.”
I could see the gears turning in his head. Kids are simple but capable of taking a new fact and accepting it.
I think part of the problem (beyond the obvious bigotry) is that for many people, the only time they know they’ve been exposed to drag are the stereotypical drag shows. They’re fun (IMO), but I’m not certain they’re appropriate for elementary school-aged kids.
Such people may not make the connection that drag is more than the shows…or that some of those shows aren’t any racier than some of the shows put on by high school cheerleaders or dance teams.
Right, but at least with the high school cheerleaders all the beer-bellied guys 30, 40, 50 years past their prime can oggle them acceptably and feel no shame and have no regrets and the cheerleaders are going to be too meek to push back.
“Russia denied it was in default, saying the payments had been made, in dollars and euros, on May 27 and the money was stuck with Euroclear, a settlement house based in Belgium.”
