- I think isolating when symptomatic or testing positive should be included too, hence the desire to have a test or 2 around. I wouldn’t test just to test, but I would if I had prolonged exposure to someone infected.
Walgreens has some Binax in stock for shipment
Ordered from Walgreens. Website was a little buggy but eventually got through.
Got my Binax kits delivered from WM this morning. Woo.
I agree that a large supply of (cheap) rapid tests isn’t available, and they should be. I think “COVID IS ENDING” thoughts redirected the development of cheaper tests. But with omicron, your approach to going out means billions of tests, which I think would never have been the result.
I also think there would be a lot of false sense of security with seeing a negative test, since it can take a few days for you to test positive. I ultimately don’t think the spread of omicron (in the US) can be prevented, only slowed down slightly. I predict that Canada’s “lockdowns” will be a net negative, meaning their measures vs. omicron will result in a much longer lockdowns that outweigh omicron running its course faster. Canada’s higher vaccination rate also plays a role in needing LESS lockdowns. Difficult to measure and just my opinion.
I ordered a set on Thursday and another on Friday, both through Walmart. The ones I ordered Friday have been shipped (via OnTrac) and supposed arrive Friday but the ones I ordered on Thursday are delayed (supposed to be shipped via FedEx) and scheduled to arrive in a week and a half.
I ordered mine Thursday and said it’s arriving Tuesday, but it’s still in the “preparing” phase, so dunno.
I have 2 boxes with 2 each in my apartment anyway if it’s delayed.
Naw, one of two things would have happened.
-
When you went to check out you’d get an error message saying that the item is no longer in stock (if it was OOS before you attempted to check out).
-
It would let you check out and get your hopes up and then a couple hours later you’d get an email saying that the item is no longer in stock. (If the computer showed it in stock when you checked out, but the employee filling the order couldn’t find any.)
Ask me how I know.
I ordered Thursday from Walmart and got them today.
Now it says the ones I ordered Friday from Walmart that were supposed to be delivered January 14 will be delivered February 5!!!
So Walmart doesn’t even have them in stock but based this estimate on when they think they’ll be back in stock (plus allowance for shipping).
Can you ask on NextDoor? Some pharmacies have them but you have to call or ask in person. The former seems a stress on staff and the latter seems a bad move if someone sick is looking for them. Maybe that’s how they prevent bots from buying them.
Mine still says Tuesday, but hasn’t shipped yet. I’m assuming that will change
I got emails saying they’re on their way, but when I go to the site it says they’re delayed. I think they’ve assigned them shipping labels but that’s it.
Mine still says 1/11 on the website, but they have not created shipping labels or anything. Probably will change.
Were you responding to me? I was just giving you my interpretation of what’s going on with your Walmart order.
The last time I ordered something from them (actually COVID tests and a dog toy in early December) I got the email notification that it was delivered weeks after it came.
My 2 Binaxnow kits that I ordered from Walgreens are listed as awaiting pickup from USPS. No delivery date yet. I am leaving for a trip Tuesday, I’ll test myself with the kit I already have before going to the airport and hopefully the set I ordered will be delivered so I can test myself when I get back.
The ihealth tests I ordered… I forget exactly when… arrived yesterday. So I am back in stock. That’s good, as I feel pretty crummy, and was recently exposed to covid. So I’ll probably want to test again in a few days.
Okay, that’s weird. I just now got an email from ihealth labs saying they were shipping my order, complete with an order number. For the order that was delivered Jan 8.
