There’s a reason it is called Things That Bother Me More Than They Should
HOT DONUTS NOW!
Yeah, I dunno, everyone I have talked to who delivers food via a third party service is not making bank, unless minimum wage is making bank, and that factors in the tips, too.
I’m a generous tipper, more now than ever, and my tip is always at least the hourly minimum wage rate. A lot of people aren’t doing this to pad their income these days, it is their income.
The top picture looks like a naked powdered sugar doughnut.
They are far down the list of snacks I’d choose. Cinnamon crumb doughnut holes are good. Powdered sugar doughnut holes are okay. If I was going to choose a doughnut, it’d probably be a cinnamon twist or maple bar.
When Krispy Kreme first came to Canada, it was so amazing to get the donuts hot and chow down right there in the store!!!
If anyone is ever out toward the end of Long Island, hit up the North Fork Donut Company (NoFoDoCo). They make some fantastic ones.
Detroiters are none too pleased with Pizza Hut’s cultural appropriation:
Sounds like the car Johnny Cash built, one piece at a time. And both from Detroit.
Maybe Detroit-native Chris Powers, a bar owner quoted by food writer Emily Heil, explained it best when he said the pizza “looks like a Detroit pizza—all the cornerstone elements are represented. But they’re all a little off, so when you put them all together it ends up entirely different.”
When I heard Pizza Hut was doing Detroit Style and knowing their menu I assumed what they would come up with was basically their cheese sticks with toppings and sauce. That sounded ok to me. Sounds like what they actually made was something that’s different and significantly worse than that.
Starbucks order ahead feature is perfect. I have 2 Starbucks within 3.2 miles of my house. Using order ahead in my garage and then driving to the store, masking up, and walking from my car into the store, my order is ready 90% of the time to be grabbed and walked right back out with. This convenience makes it a must stop anytime I drive anywhere to grab a road drink. Good work Starbucks!!!
Got in an Uber today. What normally costs me 20 with tip (15 + 5 tip) cost me 41 (no tip - yet). I am not tipping. He got his $ right? Why do I feel so bad.
Because Uber is a bad and evil company?
Except
a) you’re drinking starbucks which is burnt tar. Go get a real coffee. I insist.
b) you’re paying obscene amounts for… a coffee. Except you’re not paying for coffee, you’re paying for image.
If you want a half-assed OK coffee, buy a keurig. Better than starbucks, cheaper, and easier. If you want an iced coffee, buy it at the grocery store and keep some in the fridge.
that’s correct, this is me telling another adult what to do.
I buy macdonalds coffee as a treat somewhat regularly, so I get it. But I pay like $1.90CDN for one. Not $6 or $8 bucks.
I think McD coffee > Starbucks as well
I think McD’s is actually the 8-O-clock brand
Quick Trip (QT) Coffee FTW though! Kona! You’re welcome
I was in Vegas on the Strip a few years back and got a regular ol’ sbux coffee. $4.25 - 'Murikan.
Same story in Niagara Falls right next to the water.
In canada, tim hortons used to have great coffee. And mcdonalds coffee was nasty.
Then timmies dumped their.supplier. And mcdonalds apparently negotiated with the former timmies supplier.
So now tims coffee is nasty and mcdonalds is a great coffee. True story. Lots of people. Have migrated to mcdonalds from tims.
Plus tims service is hilariously abysmal. Havent been to our tims more.than once in many years.
The straw.at tims was we had a decent sized order. One coffee,.two teas, an iced coffee and then a fruit drink. I repeated it like three times. I get to the pickup window and the person clarifies ‘uh, how many hot chocolates was that again?’. Zero. I.ordered zero hot chocolates.
Also id like to try chik.fila, theres one locally. But iirc, they are christian fundies and anti lgbtq? So no chicken for me.
And to.round out the trifecta, holy cow mcdonalds is expensive now.
My wife prefers 7-11 coffee.
