I played, even though I’ve been too busy for most of them recently. NN won with 55%, but since total scores of the 3 who finished were only 139.59 (where 4 scores would add to 200), procrastinator had a lead had he finished. In fact, since he played 15 of the 16 boards, he was probably certain to win even if he got a 0 on board 16.
Up for a real challenge?

Finished 24th in a national event, 5 places better than our previous record. I still need 11 platinum and toby needs 15. We intend to fix that this summer…

Some hands from the NABC:
Brenda Jacobus opens 2NT and I double for penalty. I force out the ace of diamonds and she runs her four heart tricks and I pitch off three spades. She leads the Qc off dummy (think she might hold it to -1 with ace and another) to my king and on the run of the diamonds I watch her get squeezed. When she parts with a club I exit a club and score my two spades, +500, 88%. Only one other person in the 75-pair field thought it right to double, although some people were doubled off in spades making.
Against 3NT I get a 4th best club lead to the ace and my king. The diamonds are a potential source of tricks but I also would like to induce another club lead from LHO. I cross to the Qs and lead a diamond to the 9 and Q. LHO complies and I run off all the black tricks and in the ending a worried RHO clearly attempts to hold the Qh and Ad concedes the hand and says well done before I have a chance to call for the ace at trick 12 (dropping the Q) which I was going to do, 95%.
West opens 2C pass 2D now 3C from Toby. Now 3S (he should blast to 4) and I raise to 4C. I think RHO doubled here, possibly thinking his partner had defense but it went 4S by west, 5C by Toby (south) and RHO doubled again. We only lost a heart and a club, +550 was 84%.
Against Doub/Wildavsky who finished second Toby opened south 1C and I bid 1NT to end the auction. Doug leads the Kc and I win it. Now there is only one way to play the diamonds as I see it without any more entries: unblock the ten to the king and back to the ace. I was now able to trap Adam’s Jxxx to hold it to -1 and 83% when they could do better in spades.
Toby opened 1C (our 1NT here is 10-11) Mike Cappelletti Jr bid 1S, Neg X, and now a 2N call that shows spades. Toby bid 3D, Mike bid 3S and I raised to 4C. Mike doubled that and Toby scored up +510 and a pure top.

Board 8 of the current Declare-only. Don’t know whether I played it well or not. Not optimally, I think, as the cards lie. But regardless of the play, this has got to be some of the worst bot bidding ever. With Board 2 also a candidate for worst bidding ever. Board 5 is awful Bot bidding, but not as bad as 2 or 8.
