NN wins the regular challenge with 56.25% by 1.56%. Both group challenges and 1 individual challenge reissued. The other 2 individual challenges to be reissued the next two days (at least, that’s the plan)
procrastinator wins the regular group challenge with +7.92, by 6.00. AA wins the declare-only with 54.69%, by 0.78%. Both reissued
oirg wins the regular challenge with +19.00, by 15.25, NN wins the declare-only with 62.50%, by 3.12%. Both likely to be reissued tomorrow.
procrastinator wins the regular group challenge with +19.50, by 4.50. oirg wins the declare-only with 54.69%, by 0.78%. Both to be reissued this evening.
Presume I can post this bidding situation from today’s Sunday Day Long, even though the tournament is still going and some of you might still encounter this hand.
One heart is certainly a plausible opening bid, even if not best. Presumably at every table when 1H is opened, west overcalls 2D, CHO doubles, and east passes. I’m not saying that 4C is the normal or even a conceivable choice for our rebid, but if any south questions what 4C would mean, he sees it shows 6+ hearts and rebiddable clubs. I don’t see why it should show 6 hearts, but that explanation might influence what we should rebid.
You’ll have to wait until tomorrow to learn what I did rebid and how it worked out.
Actually from day 2 for the weekend 2-day instead of the Sunday day-long. I was thinking I had bid 4C anyway, since it seemed so obviously the correct bid. However I actually followed the explanation and just rebid 3C. My auction and result (4C making 6, +170) was the most common result, 151 times out of 605, for 40.69% of the matchpoints (there were also 24 results of +170 in 2S (1), 3H (7) or 3S (16)).
This one was really from the Sunday daylong, and feature an incredibly bad call by CHO. How could he pass 4H with a heart void, an ace, and 6 cards in the major I overcalled at the 2 level?
tk won the group challenge, by 1.76 with a score of 9.
tk also won the declare-only with an impressive score of 64.58%. By 11%.
oirg wins the regular challenge with +25.00, by 24.00. oirg also wins the declare-only, with 58.59%, by 3.90%. To be reissued, probably Thursday.
Had a monster result for the Sunday day-long
Score: 77.35% [Rank: 18/17366]
Interestingly, my two sub 50th% scores I felt were good results given the hands.

procrastinator wins the regular challenge with +18.50, by 11.50.
NN wins the declare-only with 54.69%, by 3.13%.
Individual challenge vs NN and procrastinator have been reissued. procrastinator only 8 boards by mistake. Vs AA to be reissued 16 boards I hope tomorrow.
I suspect the regular challenge expired without me (unless I never issued it). procrastinator won the declare-only with 59.38%, by 7.30%.
oirg wins the regular group challenge with +24.75, by 21.25.
procrastinator and NN tie for the win in the declare-only, with 53.91%.
I win the regular challenge with the unusually low winning score of +4.25, by 1.00.
With 4 players, md wins the declare-only with 55.21, by about 1 points over the next competitor. Looks like Steve did not even start it, or was exactly at 50%.
I accidentally declined the group challenge issues in the last day or so.
You may want to do some of the BBOFest Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. All these are with three bots.
The Country vs Country challenge costs $0.10 BBO (ten cents, but if you don’t have any BBO$ now you need to purchase at in lots of at least $5 USD, maybe more). Then you play 32 boards on Mon-Wed Aug 5-7, no time constraints by day. Matchpoints
There is also the Mini 3 Day Survivor and Robot 3 Day Survivor. Both are free, 12 boards per day, matchpoints. Must score 50% to survive. No carry forward: need 50% day 2 even if you had a monster day 1. Definitely 12 per day. If play fewer than 12 day 1 or day 2, you don’t survive to the next day, and you can’t play more than 12 in either event.
Overall results are based on results for all three days.
Mini and Robot are separate events. Exactly the same except for eligibility. I think everyone on BBO is eligible for Robot. You are eligible for Mini if you have fewer than 1000 BBO master points (likely we all do).
Here is a link for more info on the Mini: About the Monthly 3-Day Mini Survivor
BTW, they’ve been having BBOFest every month, the first Mon-Tues-Wed of the month. I’ve played Country vs Country several times. I think I played Robot and Mini for the first time in June, then forgot about those two in July until after day 1.
Bizarre. I am surely safe for day 2 of the mini survivor, with a preliminary 71.55%. A favorite, but on very shaky ground, with a preliminary 50.38% in robot survivor.
But totally baffled. I can’t find the country vs country to play, even though I was able to register.
