yep, 60!
actually, it’s more a courtyard surrounded by other buildings than a wall. still, meh. not an amazing view.
just got the hdmi cable i needed to hook my laptop up to the monitor. not really a fan of this monitor. it’s kind of fuzzy. the color is way better on my laptop. I should have paid attention to the negative reviews a little more where they say exactly this. the main reason i got this monitor was that it was one of the few where there were no conflicting opinions on whether you could mount it. it was easily mounted.
waiting for the keyboard/mouse combo so i can stop using the keyboard on my laptop.
woah, something weird happened. my laptop suddenly had no control over the volume. so i went to figure out why and switched some speaker input and now the sound is way louder than it was. does this monitor have speakers or something? suddenly the volume on my laptop is way better than it ever was.
I have a 60" Herman Miller desk… I suppose it’s a table, there are no drawers, whatever. Most days I think a 48" desk would suffice, but I think 60" is my sweet spot to leave some extra real estate in case I need to look at paper things.
my lift-top coffee table is around 48" x 25". it was too small. i’m not sure if the small drawer i added on makes it officially a desk rather than a table.
this desk is 60" x 30" i think. it seems perfect sized.
ugh, i wish i researched monitors better. maybe i’ll get used to the picture on this being very subpar from my laptop.
the guy who assembled my desk thought the “clamp-on power” attachment was stupid and that i should have gotten the 8-outlet mountable one instead, so he said it’s easy enough to attach and he would leave it off. i was at my desk for all of like 5 minutes today and realized i wanted it to easily charge my phone at my desk, which was why i bought it to begin with. attaching it was pretty easy. i didn’t hide the wires though like he would likely have.
Aaaah! Those are the greatest things since sliced bread. I’ve been looking for one for months assuming that only Ikea had them. Now I know there’s a name for it and can go order one from amazon!
Something like these little things are useful for cable management at your desk:

I’m unhappy with this chair. It’s too hard ![]()
I couldn’t tell from sitting on it for a few minutes in the store.
I initially felt that way too until I enabled the forward tilt. While the chair is still hard I don’t feel it in my legs as before.
@Stephen the controls kind of confuse me. you mean, you tilt it forward and sit like that?
you have an aeron?
i’m not sure if i can return it. it’s still within the 30 days, but i threw away the box without thinking.
i ordered a seat cushion off amazon, but not sure that’s gonna help and also seems ridiculous that i need one.
I have an Aeron. Working from home for many years. I finally gave in and bought one. I have the C size and am a bit large weight wise.
I agree the controls at first were confusing. I think they reworked some of them for 2020.
On the left side there is a control that has an inner and outer knob. If I lean back and turn the outer knob towards the front, it will allow the seat to tilt a little forward if I lean forward.
I was told that if you do a lot of computer work, doesn’t everyone :), to have the forward tilt enabled.
Getting the correct height so my feet are flat on the floor and thighs level was another change for me coming from a chair with a cushion. It took about a week of adjusting to get the chair just right but I can say I’m a lot more comfortable for longer periods of sitting.
I think I just enabled forward tilt. I still think it might be just too hard. I don’t know. I have the A size, more based on my height than weight, but if you weigh a lot, I suppose the larger one is better.
returning the chair. it’s me that’s the problem, not the chair. i think it’s a good chair, but
- i have joint issues. i need something more cushiony.
- i found a pillow in my apartment that makes it somewhat better, but not ideal, and i shouldn’t spend $1400 on a chair that’s only just okay.
one great thing about this chair is that it’s made for a shorter person, so your back is always in the back of it. i probably won’t find that in another chair, but i can use a pillow.
i need something more cushiony that i can sit indian style in. is that what it’s called? with my legs criss-crossed in it. maybe a gaming chair is what i need. many of those gaming chairs it’s questionable if they even height adjust low enough for a person who is 5’4" though, let alone the back of it not meant for a shorter person.
doesn’t help that my PT threw my body completely out of wack on friday, so it’s revolting just existing at all right now.
they say this netting type material on the aeron is good for long-term sitting because you won’t sweat or get too hot in it. well, I DON’T SWEAT! That’s not a problem for me to begin with. I should have considered this non-issue for me before buying it.
dammit, my joints hurt!!! ![]()
The reason I didn’t consider the aeron, which I used at work, is because I often sit cross-legged. I disliked it at work enough that I managed to snag an old chair that was pegged to be disposed of and used that at my desk.
I do like the mesh, and the one that I bought has a mesh back, but a flatter, cushioned seat.
ah, did you mention the aeron at work and that’s why you didn’t like it? if so, i missed that post. i would have taken that opinion seriously. didn’t realize you had experience with an aeron chair and your specific reason for not liking it would apply to me.
i think they are gonna take it as a return anyway even though i ditched the box, so that’s good.
the mesh on the back is fine. it’s the seat being mesh that i do not like. it’s honestly my bones that are the issue though, not the chair, but i shouldn’t pay 1400 for a chair that i don’t love.
@Lucy , what exact chair do you have now? i know it was from “sit on it”, but is there a specific model?
i’m probably gonna go cheaper with whatever i buy this time around though.
not sure whatever you have would be perfect for me anyway since i think you said you’re taller than me, but we have the liking to see cross legged in common.
My post was:
I bought a chair from sitonit
You don’t need a chair with lots of adjustments, a big corporation that is going to have lots of people sit in the same chair needs to buy chairs with lots of adjustments. You just need a chair that fits you.
I bought this because the seat part is relatively flat, and lets me fold my legs (“Indian style”) on the chair without cutting off my circulation. I was really uncomfortable when I used a Herman Miller Aeron chair for a while. But that’s just me, and it might be great for you.
Anyway, I’m very happy with this chair. It’s comfy, it leans back the way I like it to, and it seems sturdy. I would recommend the brand.
