If that jurisdiction is Washington, DC though, what does that prevent him from doing in DC?
(Wasn’t his DC license revoked?)

Gaetz says he isn’t coming back to congress. He really wants to shut down the ethics report.
Does the report matter if he is no longer in Congress? Assuming he is done with politics generally if he quits.
The funny thing is, if he’s really staying out of politics, wouldn’t that really leave the Republicans free to release the report, since they would no longer be in a position of protecting another Republican?
The general practice of the Ethics committee is to only release reports on its own members. The only reason they were contemplating releasing the report after Gaetz resigned is because he was in the running for AG.
So can they at least comment on whether they found him in violation of the body’s ethical standards even if the details are not divulged?
The number of women that he venmoed, as well as the dollar amounts, has leaked. Some of the testimony of some of the victims has leaked. What else is in the ethics report that is worse that he cares about blocking.
In my silly fantasy world of holding everyone equal under the law I would like to see all results of congress examining itself that may constitute a crime be turned over to the FBI for prosecution. I have no problem with easy processing for minor offenses as long as its public record.
The guy got married in the last few years. The details may paint a picture that may necessitate a revisit of his marriage status.
On general principle that is the most desirable position. Unfortunately from MTG there seems to be more such reports. There maybe more reports going way back in time too. Releasing his report will lead to questions about what about the others before hence why the committee is talking about tradition.
The guy took out McCarthy and did some blocking for Gabbard and Hegseth (maybe should have stayed in for a few more downs though), so his work is done.
Hegseth allegedly drugged and raped a woman 7 years ago. The prosecutor ultimately chose not to press charges, and it recently came out that the woman was paid to sign an NDA.
More trolling: Seb Gorka as Senior Director for Counterterrorism
Scott Bessent is an interesting pick for Treasury Secretary for many reasons.
I remember well Soros’ profitable 1992 bet against the pound (I was working in the UK at the time) but did not know that Bessent worked for him at the time and was influential in making the bet. Bessent is obviously smarter than other Trump picks, thankfully
Trump has nominated Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Secretary of Labor. She is one of the only Republicans in the House who consistently supports unions and people on the left genuinely support this one.
She registered as a foreign agent for the government of Qatar;
I wonder if she is going to give up the Qatari gig which pays her over a million a year.
Not sure if he has learned that he actually needs to deliver for the working class if he wants to retain their support, or if he is just trolling the Senate and daring them to oppose him. Either way, it’s a small bright spot amidst the gloom.
I was expecting Tucker Carlson.
That’s probably plan B when they deny Gorka.
