We gave two random small chocolate bars, a Hershey’s kiss, and a lollipop. We pre prepped the four so we could dole out quickly when the waves came. A tray with a pick three rule is an interesting concept.
They’re very refreshing!!!
We have about 45 kids come by. Last year was about half because COVID.
And we have a few bars left!!! ![]()
Some lady in the neighborhood was giving entire packages of Oreos (the ~1lb size). I think she wins Halloween.
Apparently she was very drunk too…
We set up a table with the candy lined up in rows so it was easy to see and pick.
that doesn’t really seem in the spirit of halloween. i’m not sure i’d want an entire package of oreos as a kid. too much commitment to oreos. it is weird.
My wife and 2 kids only brought back 1 package. I don’t think she was giving one to each kid.
A package of oreos can last a long time - doesn’t need to be eaten that night.
well, you typically wouldn’t eat all the candy in one night. that’s not my point. my point is an entire package of oreos is just weird.
like, if i want oreos, i’ll go to the damn supermarket and buy oreos.
okay, maybe i’m not a kid, and i don’t get the appeal at all here.
I hung out at my parents (I’m in AZ with them till next Sunday). They had about 10 total kids in 2.5 hours and live in a pretty large subdivision. One family didn’t come up to our garage/driveway for the Packers flag we had displayed. The Packers beat the AZ Cardinals this past Thursday. I have lost more faith in humanity.
Oh, it’s definitely weird. It’s pretty awsome though, IMO.
errrr, i can walk to the supermarket RIGHT NOW and buy oreos.
i don’t want to though.
I don’t have to walk to the supermarket - I have some on the counter RIGHT NOW. And, I can choose when and where to eat them.
i LOVE the fun size box of junior mints. perfect size for a refreshing change of pace.
I suspect I eat more candy than…just about any other adult I know. but the weeks following halloween are awesome in the office for someone who grazes like I do.
I also have a few Almond Joys sitting around. I don’t want them, yet, here we are.
I have a sneaking suspicion that I don’t actually have to eat them…
ummm, you go to an office?
we return this week a couple days a week. Halloween candy might be the thing that makes it worth it…and the better chair.
i have enjoyed the WFH life though.
that said, my commute is maybe one of the easiest on this board. suburban road for 2 miles, take a left, 2nd bldg on the right. as little as 7 minutes sometimes kitchen to desk.
I bought Reese’s peanut butter cups based on the survey results above. Now I’m sick with a lot of them. They’re okay, but not something i really want to eat. My husband hate them. My daughter is like me…
Next year, I’m only buying candy someone in the house wants to eat.
We got more than a dozen kids. We never get many, so that’s pretty good. They were all small.
I wore the same costume irl that I’ve worn here for the last few days. Visibility sucks. But the kids liked it, and the parents loved it.
You have a medieval doctors mask? That’s cool.
