The White Sox only swept 2 series last year. We’re already halfway there!
lots of fun in the first 10 games.
runners lane issue called correctly leads to ejection.
had a great example of the new 2D strike zone challenge reverse a called strike that was probably called correctly under the 3D rule book zone.
the twins stink. the home opener weekend was awful weather
New City Connect jerseys. Is Wisco something people in Wisconsin say? I live an hour away and have never heard it called that.
Whoa, NOW I’m interested in watching the sport, which will be played so much differently in these uniforms.
Meanwhile, new “science” (intuition, built on experience and inner drive) on baserunning, at ESPN:
This article focuses WAY too much on one (or two) play in one game, since there were 27 (+) other opportunities for the TOR to score but were outs instead. But, a good article nonetheless on how some (very few) players and coaches still work on it.
Maybe but the fact remains had that one play gone differently, the Blue Jays and not the Dodgers would be defending World Champions right now. So, I can see how that one play does get a fair amount of focus.
Jays had so many chances to win that game. So uncharacteristic that they didn’t given how they were so opportunistic all season.
Not sure, but probably about as likely as people in Northern California saying ‘Frisco’
I can see it too, but I also see (IMO) that is just one incident. Now, if they looked at every single baserunning issue in the Series, then maybe more teams will get the hint.
Meanwhile, Dave Roberts in the other dugout just nodding his head, thinking about 2004 and his positive baserunning contribution to BOS in the ALCS. If only the NYY would have made that out…
Meanwhile, in Seattle, Ichiro has them ROTFL again:
If only there was instant replay in 2004
This seems a bit rash, but I guess locking him now instead of his going to the NYM or LAD in a few years is what they think is a good idea.
Get some insurance for that contract. He could decide not to care how good he is for the next eight years.
Lest we ever forget:
Not MLB, but still interesting. Braxton Garrett threw a no hitter yesterday in the minors and lost

White Sox fans finally have a reason to watch this year in M Murakami. Tied the rookie record with HRs in 5 straight games, and he’s hitting some absolute bombs.
Yeah, I was listening to the game on the radio in the car the other day while doing errands and I noticed he’s already must-listen. I stayed in the car just to hear his at bat.
The local sports radio station that carries the Cubs just moved from AM to FM about a month ago. I guess I’m really really really used to the sound of AM sports, because it sounds absolutely horrible on FM to me, despite there seeming to be more clarity and stereo, of course. Maybe they compress AM and I”m totally used to that? I can’t seem to pin down what bothers me. AM seems to have more low end? It just seems … wrong.
Might depend on the frequency, but they changed in NY for some of the local broadcasts and the quality improvement was insane… although the last nite host voices were crazy different and disturbing ![]()
I think The Score is simulcast now, so you should still be able to listen on 670?
You could probably listen to that in Denver.
Or, anywhere via Audacy.
MLB has some weird blackout rules for internet radio. I can’t get White Sox audio to stream on my laptop. Not sure if this is because I’m on a VPN or not.
