weird, I can listen to the local (or away) radio broadcast for every game on the mlb app
Whoa! Whoâs tied with Texas for the last wild card spot? Thatâs unexpected. Maybe theyâll get to .500.
itâs like a baseball card w the wrong photo
Itâs kinda weird that it seems entirely possible the AL could finish with only 2 teams over .500, the Rays and Yankees who are both from the AL East. Cleveland is +1 over .500, so if they hadnât won yesterday, theyâd be -1.
And the Reds, who are 2 games over .500 are in last place in the NL Central.
On the other hand, itâs pretty impressive that the Cubs are red hot, given that 4 regulars are hitting for crap (Swanson, PCA, Bregman, and Busch all have OPS 710 or less.) and their pitching staff has almost as many stints on the IL (10) as quality starts (14). Wrigley is a hot ticket these days.
It is crazy that only two teams in the AL are over 500 on May 7th, but I doubt that lasts all season long.
I also doubt the NL central finishes with 5 teams above 500.
But if it does happen, that might be the craziest baseball season ever.
What is the NL winning percentage against the AL this year? A while ago it was .593.
It seems like there really are a lot of bad teams concentrated in the AL this year and Iâm not sure why. Some of it is injuries but Iâm sure the NL has had injuries too and that canât explain all t he desparity.
One can only surmise that the Central Divisions have played a lot of interdivision games against each other so far this season. Since that cannot happen all season, the current standings will regress to ânormal.â
And, it seems someone was asked enough times about the standings that they decided to write about it:
So far, it has not. The NL has a 23-game edge in interleague play, and while that isnât completely supported by the run differentials (the gap should be around 15 games), itâs still substantial. But this was the case early last season and by the end of the campaign, the AL ended up with a 14-game edge.
anyone watching Mets Yanks on Apple?
how are they pronouncing Schittlerâs name?
I am hearing Schindler
No Apple here, yet.
I am watching the LAD at LAAAA.
Itâs the Angel broadcast, and it is far exciting to the announcers than the reality.
I was flipping between the Cubs / White Sox radio broadcasts. I didnât time it, but I"m sure the Cubs broadcast lagged the White Sox by a good 10 seconds.
TIL: if a fair ball hits the protective netting, the ball is still in play.
Fun fact: sometimes the players and the broadcasters donât know the rules.
saw that too and heard the explanation andâŚexplanation makes sense to me. as long as no contact with fan behind the netting, play on
The netting is akin to the wall underneath the netting, or a rolled-up tarp.
Not sure if it is included in the explanation of ground rules pre-game, though it is not specific to these particular grounds.
White Sox vs Cubs series this weekend delivered big time. Quero was an unlikely hero (slugging .163 going into Sunday), but a 10th inning walk-off is a great way to get your first HR of the season
brutal way to lose. one hitter!
2 hitter - Single broke up the no-no, HR broke up the shutout and changed the W to an L.
thenâŚim not even gonna remember it.
