And they left off the QB with 3 rings and best record in the NFL. I guess they figured he wouldn’t be available anyway so why add him.
Does that matter anymore?
Very strong year for AFC QBs
Sarcasm
Barkley taking his sitting like a mature adult. Family members and media and 18-week FFL owners are not.
Let’s be clear though: he is not “resting.” He is being sat to lower the risk of injury. I mean, he could go for 101 or whatever yards he needs and THEN rest if resting was the goal. And sitting means a different week of preparation this week (and possibly next). If he was resting, he would not be practicing or doing al that rote work required, but that means he would have to get back in the groove next week. I hope for their sake (honestly, I don’t care) they thought all this out.
Honestly a little surprised the Eagles are doing this. If for no other reason than the chance to pile on the Giants by having their former 1st round pick break the record with the Eagles the year he left the Giants on the Giants home field.
You’d almost be led to believe that coaches/organizations don’t think “records” matter all that much…
Yeah, but the 200 IQ move is to let them win and worsen their draft order.
Goff and Darnold had fabulous seasons in terms of both numbers and team results. Granted their long term reputation is not nearly as good, but they are very deserving this year.
Sure but I’m guess trying to win the next 4 is sightly more important to the Eagles than Barkely setting the record in a meaningless final season game.
If this game meant anything to the Eagles playoff changes then sure let Barkely try to embarrass the team that let him walk. Barkely has also had a couple injuries in his career that cost him most of one season and 2-3 games in 3 other seasons. Given even as small possibility of injury that could leave him out of next weeks playoff game or at less than 100% why would the Eagles play him?
And you know there are players on the Giants that would love to ensure that Barkley is not at 100% going into the playoffs…
I knew before the Dallas game was over that they would sit Barkley. If you were going to let him go for the record, then they would have let him pile on more yards vs Dallas, so he could break the record in just a series or two vs the Giants.
But that’s 300IQ football. No one in the NFL is at that level.
the players can’t be. they are all playing (at great risk of injury) for their next pay check or contract all the time and it might not come in that team’s program. coaches (assistants) are all on like 1 year deals. those coaches can’t roll over or else their resume sucks.
giants did a lot of the heavy lifting last week beating the Joe Flacco colts!
Strange map for NFL games on TV this Sunday.
https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2024&wk=18
There are notes on the bottom which state changes made since Wednesday (first day this website publishes the map). So, Colorado Springs and Flint are showing SEA-LAR, as of this morning.
In areas of the country when the dedicated team is not on, it seems changes can be made. But by whom, and why? Not sure if NFL Football League does it, or the local affiliate requests it, or some number of citizens request that the affiliate requests to change it.
Looking it up: quora has three different opinions (actually the three options above).
I’m going to go with “The local affiliate can decide which game to show when its dedicated team is not playing.” But how does the local affiliate decide? Sometimes there is a famous player on the team from the area. OK stations gets Baker Mayfield games, for example. Can enough people say, “Hey, I would like you to show X v Y at this time when dedicated Z is not playing.”
CBS - they are subjecting a LOT of the country to BUF-NE. But the alternatives are almost as awful. each game features a team with 4 (carolina) or 3 (NE/NYG/TEN) wins. Only those whove moved on to the draft pick excitement (that’s me) could care at all. infomercials would be better for most fans of the sport. or extended pregame.
One of the few weeks this year NYers have NYG and NYJ at 1:00 and 4:00 games
Not watching TV is also an option.

Yes, it is!
and they may ask - why are we being punished for 6 hours! (many ignore dtnf’s advice)
I probably won’t watch any NFL Football League on TV this Sunday.
Downside: picking up my son from the airport around 4PM on Sunday. Can’t hit the poker room next to SoFi, because the lot will be full. Might have to hit Hustler instead. Only 20 minutes away, but might be 30 or 40 minutes postgame.
Add to that returning vacay crowd at LAX…
was that National Anthem as bad as I thought it was?
