“Oh, he didn’t deny it! That means…”
Better to have the same phrase every year: “At the end of the year, we evaluate all personnel,…”
Anywho, Black Monday firings: how many? Gonna guess “4.”

Can Chicago fire Eberflus again?
Barkley playing it cool about the record:
On Sunday, after becoming just the ninth player in NFL history to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season, Barkley said he’ll be fine with whatever Sirianni decides.
“Whatever his decision is, I’m all for it,” Barkley said. “If his mindset is, we’ll go out there and try it, I’ll go out there and try it. If his mindset is, let’s rest and get ready for this run, I’m all for that, too … I came here to do something special. Breaking a record is special, but I want a banner up there. I think we all do.”
Not some fragile-ego jackass thinking about me-me-me (side-eye at Eric the Dick-erson).
So, he’ll play until he breaks the record. His O-Line will also sit out after the record.
What could possi-blie go wrong?
The D is certainly their Achilles Heel. 49ers moved the ball at will until they started throwing interceptions.
Is Rex Ryan really in the running for next Jets HC? Has anyone ever gotten a second stint as HC of the same team after being fired the first time? None come to mind.
Oh…you said “fired”… otherwise, Bud Grant had non consecutive coaching terms with the Vikings, featuring a mini retirement.
And, of course, you’re not referring to Billy Martin of the New York Baseball Yankees.
I remember one: Marion Campbell, the Swamp Fox
This. Or even “we are always evaluating who to keep and who to let go”.
Never heard of him (probably for good reason
)
What exactly was ATL thinking in 1987???
Art Shell
I think they should either have an asterisk or subtract 2 for the Bears games.
Before Blank bought the Falcons, they were owned by Rankin Smith and family. They were bad owners, continously making poor decisions and not having nearly as deep pockets as many other franchise owners.
I googled and found this piece that has some discussion on Campbell. Lol that he’s worst all time at Wins over Expectation:
Well, that didn’t last long… 2-14, fired after 1 year. No wonder I didn’t remember that!
Also, first was with the LA Raiders, second was with the Oakland Raiders. COMPLETELY different ![]()
Looks like a useful article for Bears ownership to read.
Lesson 1: Just because someone is a decent/good coordinator, doesn’t mean they are HC material (See: Nagy… Eberflus… Thomas Brown…)
Campbell was indeed a good DC and an atrocious head coach.
And Billy Martin and Billy Martin and Billy Martin
and other Yankee managers
What playoff team wants Zeke?
ESPN.com

The Cowboys have waived running back Ezekiel Elliott to give him a chance to land with a playoff contender.
Nice to have a second or third RB to give #1 RB a rest, I guess.
My guess: none of them do
In all fairness, teh Lions D has been generating interceptions well all year. The sceme used does a very good job of disguising floating safeties as cover 1.
Pro Bowl roster is out. The comparison between AFC and NFC QBs is kinda wild. Allen, Lamar and Burrow vs Goff, Daniels and Darnold.
