I should add that if the lions win tonight, their division will have the highest percentage in nfl history.

Dan Campbell said earlier that the starters will play.

However, I would think he might pull them early. It’s a short week for them, and I’d want them fresh with the division and a bye on the line on Sunday.

Yup. I was of course cheering for Atlanta. And for the Cardinals two nights earlier. Both teams came oh so close to helping the Seahawks.

Once the Rams won, the Seahawks needed to win the lottery to make the playoffs.

Did they hire Eberflus as a consultant?

When will they ever learn? I like the flawed economic justification for the project as I have heard this so many times for other projects:

The Bank of America Stadium subsidy deal was based on a commissioned analysis that predicted $22 billion in economic impact from the stadium renovations, and claimed an existing $1.1 billion in annual economic impact for the city. However, these figures fly in the face of independent economic analyses of the economic impact of stadiums in cities across the country. The evidence of real-world stadiums in action is clear that rather than generating billions in new economic impact, stadiums simply redistribute where local residents are spending their entertainment dollars. Cities that get new stadiums see little to no increase in overall economic activity, and cities that lose teams see little to no economic loss.

But, but, a billionaire owner of a sports team wouldn’t lie to us!!

Another record will be the first wild card to have 14 wins (the loser of lions-Vikings).

And the winners of two of the NFC Divisions will have substantially fewer wins.

Everyone knows the rules of this contest.

Of course, but it is still interesting to see the disparities between divisions.

Also a decent chance we get a new SB champ this year. Lions, Bills, Vikings are still virgins iirc.

Would be pretty awesome if it came down to Bills vs Vikings as they’re currently tied for most super bowl appearances without a win (4 each).

It’s a shame that NFL fans probably won’t get to see this awesome Bengals offense in the playoffs.

What the Lions have done is very impressive. They had both a good offense and defense for the first half of the season. The D got devastated by injuries and has significantly regressed down the stretch as a result, but they keep winning as the offense has put on a show.

Not sure they can make it through to the SB with that plan. I’d bet against it.

Yeah, Bengals are still in it, but it’s a long shot. If their defense is on they can’t be beat but their defense is very spotty. Moments of brilliance but also a lot of :woman_facepalming:.

Their offense is ridiculously good.

We need Denver to lose, Miami to lose or tie, and Cincinnati to win. That’s the path. :crossed_fingers:

I do appreciate how the NFL sets the schedule for the final weekend giving major consideration to having games mean something. The old rigid schedule made for a lot of meaningless Sunday 4pm games that would have meant something had they played at 1pm.

Anyone know what the ratio of “We are not going to fire this guy” (can include publishing of “votes of confidence”) to “Yeah, we fired this guy” is?
I mean, no one is going to say, “Yeah, we will fire this guy, probably in the next few weeks. Just looking for someone better.” So the answer is always, “He’s staying,” regardless of the planning.

My first guess is that since every team out of the playoffs (18) will be asked about their head coach, coaches, and GM in the next week or two, and the answer will always be “No” (unless they are fired before getting asked), it is probably 18:X, where X is the average number of coaches fired after the season Google AI says it is about 6. Might need to lower 18 by some amount for the average number of coaches fired during the season, Google says 2-3.

So, 15:6 or 5:2 odds. If I an doing the odds thing right.

True, but they don’t have to say anything.

I just realized that I missed a scenario.

DEN win or tie = DEN
DEN loss + MIA win = MIA
DEN loss + MIA loss or tie + CIN win = CIN
DEN loss + MIA loss or tie + CIN loss or tie = DEN

I think that covers everything that could possibly happen, and more importantly is accurate.
