This as modified was my reaction to whatever that Bills Ravens game was.
More like Jared GOAT, amiright?
Jared Goff throws perfect game to set NFL record in Lionsâ win - ESPN
The Goff-Stafford trade is one of the few clear win-win trades youâll see in the NFL. The Rams were in win now mode and Stafford got them a ring. Goff was able to reset and learn how to be a good QB in Detroit and the Lions got draft capital and a developing starting QB.
Both teams are pretty happy with the outcome.
At one point he was 15/15 for 225. 16/16 was 254 so he just barely dropped off trend.
Sunday and Monday were bad nights for both 3-0 teams.
Kansas City and Minnesota are the two remaining undefeated teams.
Jacksonville is the one remaining all-defeated team.
I have Mahomes and Lawrence in Fantasy and Iâm at 1-3.
Illuminati confirmed.
Minnesota is mind-boggling so far. Kirk Cousins had us all fooled the past several years.
So, who had $$$ on the Lions beating the Tigers to that feat?
Armadno Galarraga requests a video review.
Sorry, not reviewable due to there being clear video evidence to overturn the call. Canât have that crap in our beloved pastime.
Derived football stats are sometimes dumb. Maybe not as dumb as expected winning percentage during a game, but still ⌠kind of dumb.
Goff: 18-18-292, 2 TDs. Not a perfect passer rating (158.3) or a perfect no one gives a shit about QBR except ESPN, whoâs spent 13 or so years trying to push it on everyone QBR (presumably 99.9), but instead a 155.8 passer rating and a 95.1 QBR.
St. Brown: 1-1-7, 1 TD. Also not a perfect passer rating; a lower one (135.4) than Goff, but a higher QBR (99.6). For one play.
Lions passing, total: that gets a perfect passer rating, no clue on QBR.
Highest-ever QBR, per ESPN: Colin Kapernick in 2013, going 10-16-164, 1 TD which computed to a 68.8 passer rating but a 99.8 QBR, in a game where Colt McCoy was 1-1-13 and had a passer rating of 118.8 but a QBR of just 4.1.
Agreed!
Yum!
I have been a proud-ESPN hater for over 30 years. However, the QBR is a great concept and a vast improvement over the âpasser ratingâ when it comes to QB contribution to a game/season. Each is not intended for very small sample sizes, such as Colt McCoyâs 5 minutes during garbage time handing the ball off plus one pass attempt.
In the 2013 game, SF scored TDs on its first 4 drives @JAX. A holding penalty stalled their 5th drive, and SF had a 1-play kneel down to end the half at 28-3, at which point the game was effectively over. The remaining 2 drives led by Kaepernick resulted in a Gore fumble and another TD, with all plays being all handoffs except for 1 completion.
Other factors in Colinâs QBR not seen in his passing stat line:
- Zero pre-snap penalties by SF
- Zero sacks taken
- Zero turnovers
- Scrambling/rushing for 5 first downs including 3 on 3rd and long and 2 TDs
- One 30yd defensive pass interference
Without watching the game, I assume the majority of incompletions were not âbad passesâ, meaning they were thrown away when necessary or dropped. But there really is not a âformulaâ for the QBR which makes it hard for many to trustâit relies on the QBs results from specific in-game scenarios. It is over-hyped by ESPN, as are other in-play stats such as the chance of a completion once the ball is thrown and often misapplied âanalyticsâ.
It does appear to me that the strength of opponent is not taken into account by QBR, as JAX was 0-7 heading into the game (which was in London).
but you can be a generally bad team and still be strong defensively
Just grabbed 2 Bears tickets for this Sunday. Stubhub added 40% markup. I knew they were getting high, but good lord.
This is not news to me.
Chicago is a big city with only 1 team to support and a large, dedicated fan base and a small (and crappy) stadium. And unlike Green Bay, who draws from all over the state of Wisconsin, the Bears fan base are mostly all close to the city.
High demand and low supply makes for high prices. Econ 101 stuff.
183 + 74 fee. There were some slightly cheaper. Adding to the high demand, their next game at soldier field isnât until Nov 10th due to âhome gameâ in london, 2 road games and a bye week.
