2023 Fantasy Football

I have one morning player, TE. So, no concerns until about 12:55, to see if McC is suiting up or not.

Also McClaurin was started.
1 Target.

He got one carry and a couple other snaps, which is probably enough to squelch any protests

In an 8 team league, I had to start Josh Downs due to the JJ injury and byes from my other WRs… and he is the top scoring WR of the week! lol

Raiders made D’Onta Foreman look like the second coming of Ladanian Tomlinson. Played against him in both leagues and lost both.

do the rules on espn allow a penalty for starting a defense or kicker or other player on bye? or is that something we need to manage as commissioners?

Why would you do that? Are they “throwing” a game? If that’s the case, you kick them out of the league.

I was in a league once with a handful of owners that DNGAF. I don’t think they were tanking/throwing a game, but rather they didn’t bother to check their lineup occasionally. I left that league pretty quickly. It was a free league, so if you forgot to check your lineup there were no real repercussions.

Commissioner action.

We have rules where commisioner adjust lineup for teams not managed. Start highest projection from bench or best available FA if no one on bench can fill vacancy. This was for BYEs and injuries that were not gamertme decision.

This was done for competitive fairness, as sometimes people zone out at end of season and ended up impacting who made the playoffs.

Turns out this guy was hosting his 8 year old’s birthday party and forgot to update his team.

Dude ended up winning by 25, so the 20 points he got from my changes did not impact the outcome.

we have a thin bench. so they would have to drop a good defense for a lesser one. defenses can score negative points in the league (hello, yesterday’s lions!). but the rules allow it, and it isn’t likely a problem, so i guess i should not care.

Up by 0.2 points. Need more McC, in case of adjustments.

Addison lead me to victory and a leaguewide hugh score dedpite Bijan’s egg.

I was in last place at 1-5 prior to this eeek.

We have a $25 fine for starting players on a bye or out (unless questionable or better on the injury report). Basically, if you can’t spend a few minutes a week for 14 weeks, don’t play.

I’m in one stupid league that starts over 30 players, including all individual defensive positions. Yet we only have 5 bench spots and it takes two days to process a player add. So trying to replace bye week players or those with injuries that pop up on the weekend is futile. I don’t waste any time or brainpower on that league.

And that was the final difference.

I don’t believe ATL should have disclosed anything regarding Bijan Robinson. He had severe headaches Saturday night into Sunday. But at no time did he consider not playing. And he actually did play.

This is a customary procedure by the NFL to follow up with teams about their reported injuries.

People are blowing this out of proportion because it is Bijan (FF relevant player). Should something also have been said if the backup safety also had similar headaches but knew he was still going to play? “Well, we think backup safety X will only play 15% of the snaps instead of his usual 25%.” Do we need to carve out expected playing time for every player? Nothing to see here.

My top 6 picks were Ekeler, Josh Allen, T Higgins, Deebo, Aaron Jones and Diontae Johnson

Allen has been great, but it’s been a rough year…

If we’re talking pure football for football’s sake, then you’re right. No difference.

But the NFL (and all pro sports) have made a clear turn into the realm of entertainment. Recognizing that the league is not just to crown the Super Bowl champion, but to fuel the sports betting world, the fantasy football world, the pop culture world. Everything that impacts the number of fans that watch games, and how they feel about it.

Not reporting a very fantasy relevant player as potentially not ready to play and having this happen will have a large impact on these things. Now I agree, those people are being a little ridiculous. Teams should not be worried about betting lines, daily fantasy or fantasy football owners. But the league, on the other hand, wants to embrace and protect those things. So puts things in place to ensure owners don’t do things that artificially change those other playing fields.
