2022-23 NBA Basketball Thread

Or have the scoring title go to the player with the most points total and not points per game.
Every other league does this, so why not the NBA?

NHL rosters are larger than the NBA. Probably not 10 times larger though…

Yeah, I did the math, NHL 23 player teams with 32 teams = 736 players 116/736 = 16%
NBA 15 player teams with 30 teams = 450 players 10/450 = 2%

Just looked a little, top NHL MOI (minutes on ice) 26:22. Top NBA player minutes per game 35.7. Interesting.

And the top NBA player played in 83 games.

I think realistically this should be for the number of players expected to be play during a given game not on the roster.

NHL normally has 4 lines of forwards (3 each) 3 lines of defense (2 each) and a goalie so 19 players playing each game. 19 * 32 = 608 116/608 = 19%

NBA during the regular season have a 9 or 10 man rotation so lets say 9.5 per team. 9.5 * 30 = 285 10/285 = 3.5%

Still the same outcome for results though

Plus hockey players get the advantage of 2 HALFTIMES, whereas basketball and football players only get 1 halftime each game

Don’t even get me started on all that extra chest padding provided by the thick logos on their jerseys

and look how small the puck is compared to a basketball, surely it can’t hurt that much

Always wondered why they never called them thirdtimes.

Actually, I think the official name is ā€œThe Poutine Intervalā€

I though they were just smoke breaks.

Jimmy Butler Beast Mode

Ja Morant still is not a superstar level player that gets calls. Expect LA to rest Game 5. Curious why Miami can get another guy to play with Butler.

Butler is a great talent but he seemed to burn bridges with teammates at past stops. But then Kyrie keeps finding teammates to play with so I don’t know.

Hey Dillon Brooks, is LeBron too old? LOL

I don’t get impression Butler WANTS another top teammate. He keeps leaving places that would seem to have good ones. He definitely wants to try to win as top dawg and seems to rise in the playoffs.

GSW-SAC is the only first round series that got to 2-2. I wonder if that is common or not, I haven’t really looked. Be interesting to see how Fox shots with a fractured finger, he’s obviously a huge part of Sac’s offense.

I really enjoy watching Ja.

I’m pretty sure the first bb I’ve watched this year was the last 5 minutes of tonight’s Memphis Lakers game. Enjoyable.

There is a possibility that the 2nd round could feature
1 v 4
2 v 3
5 v 8
6 v 7

If BOS, GSW, LAL all close out.

Kings embarrassed the Warriors at chase, could be the end of an Era on Sunday.

Lakers looked good right out of the gate a steamrolled Memphis, will be going to one of the Northern California cities next.
