Watching Wisconsin men’s basketball back in the plodding, grind-it-out era is still better than watching Wisconsin men’s hockey right now. Reminds me of the late Mike Eaves era: go recruit kids that are going to be drafted high, have them around a year, they bail and you replace them with more of the same, all the 4-year kids hang around not getting developed, the program progressively gets worse. Really disappointed Tony Granato hasn’t been handed his walking papers yet.
There is hockey in college? You’re just pulling our leg, right? Hockey in college. Yeah, like there’s fencing and water polo, too. Yeah right.
I knew there was hockey in college. I didn’t know there was anyone out there who had an opinion on it.
College Hockey is awesome. Love watching players like Eichel, Caufield, Makar, Hughes, Berniers, just dominate out there.
So should the Colorado state coach call a time out at a really awkward time?
Colorado State is falling apart in this second half
As is Georgia St.
Kentucky.
I had Kentucky and Iowa in the final 4.
There goes my $5. I could have bought a gallon of gas with that money for my pickup truck.
…and driven twelve miles.
Maybe 14 or 15 on the highway…
There’s probably 3 people in the whole country whose bracket is affected by the winner of Murray St and St Peter’s (apart from diehard alumni).
I don’t really like UNC - the fact that they escaped major NCAA sanctions [or any sanctions] for rampant academic fraud more specifically tailored to athletes because “it was available to everyone” still boggles my mind - but really glad they knocked out Baylor yesterday.
Because, fuck Baylor, who shouldn’t have an athletic program for a decade for the shit it did.
I am not a UNC fan. The officiating in the UNC/Baylor game was so tilted toward Baylor when UNC went up big in the 2nd half. I haven’t looked for any comments about this yet, but it was unbelievable.
This is even without acknowledging all of the antics of Sochan for Baylor, who is Dennis Rodman-lite.
Agree it was ridiculous. Perfect storm of blatant ref bias, NC incompetence and Baylor blind luck almost made that comeback happen. You think maybe they might practice their inbounds plays this week?
UNC diehard and alum, that game was absolutely killing me. I had a thing to do that day and first time seeing the score was at halftime. Proceeded to listen do the downfall in the car and had to pull off the interstate for the last few minutes. My goodness we need some depth. Anyone have opinions on whther the flagrant 2 that ejected Manek was legit? I still actually haven’t seen any video of it and can’t comment myself.
I’d say borderline. I think if the game was being played rough to that point it’s justifiable. But NCAA Tournament game and the way they were officiating it to that point, seemed like the wrong call. But dude’s gotta know not to swing elbows like that in a game that important.
I don’t watch enough college bball anymore to know what should be a flagrant 1 vs. 2. I believe UNC being up big at the time played a role in ejecting him. Not that the refs hate UNC, but the large lead made it “easier” to eject him.
But the refereeing the remainder of the way was awful (one-sided plus allowing muggings), and I certainly do not ever actively root for UNC.
I’m doing March Saneness.
Apparently the ref that called the flagrant 2 on Manek is the same ref that called a flagrant 2 on him at Oklahoma. So…conspiracy!
