Heh, I can find where Audi “promises to bring fully autonomous vehicles to market in 2020” and I predicted that they would not make good on that promise.
Long live the Self-Driving Autos thread!!!

typing in actuarialoutpost.com now brings you to that website. you gotta type it though, not click on my link. it redirects to http://actuarialoutpo.wpengine.com/
does that mean it’s live? it still sucks.
RIP again, old actuarialoutpost ![]()
Seems to be live. It is the same place where I directed a couple posters here. 5 posts on that site and 3 are mine. I feel like you.
i haven’t reboot my computer since the ao died for good, so i still have a window open from the glory days of it not being dead.
what a shitty set-up they have even for the professional set-up they wanted. they don’t even have separate exam sections. waste of space.
Clicking on either link or typing it in all take me to the same place. Man, what a crappy website.
I’m really mad at DW Simpson for pulling the rug out from under us like that. ![]()
I’m thinking if that’s the current website, it isn’t meant for widespread public use. Kinda like a not-so-secret beta site.
I can imagine what it feels like for Tom, too.
but actuarialoutpost.com redirects to there, so i was thinking it was. idk though. regardless, it sucks, especially compared to it’s former self.
hmmm, Wordpress.
oh! they fixed it. now actuarialoutpost.com is the web address and it doesn’t redirect. it just sucks…
“Forums” link up top works, but the one in the middle of the home page does not.
The old exam threads were quite helpful for me. Learned a handful of things that were unclear for me even after reading source material and study manuals
I don’t know what “problem of the week!” even means, but can i adopt that section as ao fan’s official whine section for what bothers me this week? it will have nothing to do with exams.

Really? That sounds… like what a little company does because someone in the group has a blog and knows how to use it.
Nah, wordpress is the most commonly used website platform in the world. And it’s used by little shops right rhrough to large corps. It’d be surprising if they weren’t using it.
well… my husband is a Drupal developer. So maybe some website platform snobbery has worn off. But I have the impression that Wordpress is mostly used for smaller, less complex sites.
Of course it is the most common, since most website ARE small and simple, and it’s the clear market leader in that area.
That being said, I suppose DW Simpson doesn’t need a large or complex website.
Correct. :).
Big sites that use Wordpress.
NY Times, Disney, BBC America, Time, Mercedes Benz…
I just find it concerning that the “Forums” link under the “WELCOME TO THE ACTUARIAL OUTPOST!” splash doesn’t work (you have to use the Forums link in the menu bar).
