Yeah, I said it

I put wooden spoons and steak knives in the dishwasher. Yeah, I said what I said.

Eh, they’re your shit. You want to replace them more frequently, go on ahead.
Just, don’t put MY wooden spoons and steak knives in the dishwasher.
Oh, and don’t put dirty steak knives in the pile of other dirty stuff. Mine are particularly sharp, and someone (I) could hurt themself (myself)…

As long as you put the sharp side down I say go for it.

We do have a set of all-steel steak knives that we sometimes use. I’ll put those in the dishwasher, yes, points down.
The Henckels, our daily ones, get washed and dried by hand as soon as they done being used.

I took my mom’s Henckels set as well. Very sharp. My son is moving out again, so we are letting him take them. They are pretty old, wooden handles but very sharp. I should give him detailed instructions on how to maintain them, lot good it will do.

Damn, the non-fans are eating steak daily

We have a set of good metal steak knives and a set of crappy ones with wooden handles. Those all go in, but the good knives get washed by hand. I get yelled at if I put the wooden spoons in there.

We have some shitty knives that go in the dishwasher.

All of the nicer knives get hand washed, including the steak knives.

I wish.
I did pick up a ribeye roast for cheap the other day at the local market with a digital coupon (which I hate, yeah, I said it!)
And a Prime Spencer steak (AKA “boneless ribeye”) for myself at the local meat market.
Wife is on a health kick, so she gets nothing.
Mainly, the knife set is used for preparing: two large knives, a utility knife, a paring knife, and a long and short bread knife. Others in the house simply let the food just dry on the blade and handle. Fie to that! Yeah, I said fie!

Our steak and other specialty knives are nothing special, they all go in the dishwasher.

I’m lazy so I use the steak knives for thing that require more sharpness than a butter knife but don’t require a proper knife.

This is the set we have.

Good price right now. I got mine as a work anniversary present.

Those claim they are dishwasher safe.

I would like a nice set of steak knives. I have some crappy ones, but a better set would be nice. But I don’t want all the other stuff. Just steak knives and something to store them in.

The Henckles steak knives are a good price right now but then where do I store them? I need a case or something. They’ll be living in a drawer and I obviously don’t want them loose.

Could get a drawer insert for knives.

Ours are loose in a drawer. :man_shrugging:

We have a knife drawer insert that is handy for organization

Cheeky loose drawers meme goes here.

Yep. That’s where our crappy knives live. Good ones are in a knife block on the counter.

It’s an idea… hmm…
