That website is really annoying to navigate.
The Artemis 1 launch window will begin @ 8:30 AM ET, Monday morning (8/29)
Be there or be square!
WTG or WTF? Maybe a bit of both.
Somebody won 1st prize at the Chicago State Fair using AI generated art. (They used Midjourney, which is comparable to Dall-E.)
There’s some questions about whether it was cheating etc. but the basic point remains, that Humans are once again playing 2nd fiddle.
human intelligence is replicable, as is human creativity.
2022 continues to be the year that we give birth to skynet…
–By making matrix multiplication into a sort of pretend board game, Google was able to use AlphaZero to improve (a little) on a bunch of best algorithms, including 4x4 matrices. In a small way, I think it’s sort of the first time that we use AI to improve AI.

–Meta has one-upped Dall-e by going for text-to-video.
–Meta also published a paper outlining “autonomous machine intelligence”. Yikes.

Der comming for our jerbs!
But can they GoA like a human!?
They can probably GoA like a LincolnElectric anyway.
Honestly I’m not sure. Folks used GPT-3 to screw around on Reddit with mixed success. Having talked to GPT-3 myself, I can tell you it eventually becomes obvious that there’s something wrong with it. But in the context of an internet forum, I don’t know. It’s definitely able to regurgitate anecdotes and arguments and logic, even if it doesn’t quite think.
But that’s 2020. Since then, Google, OpenAI, Meta, etc. have made a dozen or so bigger and better chat-bots, and have not released them. (the downside is so much more obvious than the upside.) So I have no idea how convincing the new ones are.
I can barely GoA like a human some days.
Some interesting research on blindness
Imagine your job was injecting stuff into mouse eyes.
A lot of folks would choose that over actuarializing.
Do you think most of those are people who have not actually given a mouse-eye injection yet?
I suspect yes, and would also speculate that most of these people haven’t actuarialized, either. The population of people who have done both has to be vanishingly small.
was it just one blind mouse, or did they restore sight to all 3? thinking the song may need a new verse
We’re going to need a Venn diagram here.
