One of the local restaurants near where I live has a dessert that’s got ice cream and pastry and fresh strawberries / raspberries / blackberries and I think blueberries all covered in hot fudge… it’s pretty darn tasty.
Lots of chocolate cakes / tortes will have a sliced strawberry garnish.
Heck, at Safeco Field (or whatever it’s called now) where the Seattle Mariners play you can buy chocolate covered strawberries on a skewer. They call them shish-ka-berries and they’re really good.
Hmmm, I’m not sure I’ve ever had chocolate covered dried strawberries, but it sounds a lot better than chocolate covered dried apricots. Certainly if someone offered me the choice between the two I’d pick strawberry.
Sure they are! I’ve had these before and I think they’d be pretty good dipped in decent-quality chocolate. I’ve never actually eaten that, but it sounds a lot better than chocolate covered dried apricots which sounds awful. I’d try chocolate-covered dried strawberries. In fact, I need to go to Trader Joes… maybe I will pick some up and try my hand at making them!
Naw, you are missing one of life’s great pleasures. I adore the chocolate-covered dried cherries from Trader Joes. Also the chocolate-covered candied ginger, but I suppose that’s not a fruit. And chocolate-covered citrus peel is the bomb.
I have some freeze-dried strawberries in the cupboard. They are surprisingly delicious. I’ve never had them dipped in chocolate, and the texture might not work. But the flavor would.
(My husband sometimes makes chocolate covered strawberries to impress guests. They are made with fresh strawberries, and are delicious.)
Chocolate covered apricots aren’t my favorite, but I like them.
Black licorice actually killed a dude, so while Raisinets arranged in concentric pentagrams might actually contain Breadmaker, I think black licorice wins as worst.
For the dark chocolate lovers, what’s the highest proportion of cacao you enjoy? We got a 95% bar on substitution and it was too much.
70% is the highest I can still enjoy for Dark Chocolate.
I hated black licorice as a kid, but I’ve grown fonder of it over the years. Yes, an excess can make you ill, or even kill you, but that’s a LOT of licorice. More than any normal person would want. I don’t eat candy much in general, so my licorice consumption is limited to the occasional bag of all sorts if someone gives me one.
