You’ve never had chocolate covered strawberries?

One of the local restaurants near where I live has a dessert that’s got ice cream and pastry and fresh strawberries / raspberries / blackberries and I think blueberries all covered in hot fudge… it’s pretty darn tasty.

Lots of chocolate cakes / tortes will have a sliced strawberry garnish.

Heck, at Safeco Field (or whatever it’s called now) where the Seattle Mariners play you can buy chocolate covered strawberries on a skewer. They call them shish-ka-berries and they’re really good.

chocolate covered dried strawberries? definitely not.

fresh strawberries covered in chocolate? possibly, unsure.

I’m referring to dried fruit here.

Hmmm, I’m not sure I’ve ever had chocolate covered dried strawberries, but it sounds a lot better than chocolate covered dried apricots. Certainly if someone offered me the choice between the two I’d pick strawberry.

It should be “All your Mound are belong to us!”

chocolate covered strawberries is not dried. dried strawberries isn’t really a thing to begin with. dried apricots are though.

i’m fine with mounds, neither love them, nor hate them.

I’ve seen freeze-dried strawberries at the bulk store. They do not look enticing. :grimacing:

Sure they are! I’ve had these before and I think they’d be pretty good dipped in decent-quality chocolate. I’ve never actually eaten that, but it sounds a lot better than chocolate covered dried apricots which sounds awful. I’d try chocolate-covered dried strawberries. In fact, I need to go to Trader Joes… maybe I will pick some up and try my hand at making them!

Nestle Chunky is for suckers!!!  :-1: :biohazard:

yeah, except replace “awful” with “COMPLETELY AWESOME!” to describe chocolate covered dried apricots…

Special K chocolate & strawberries?

I like chocolate covered fruit

Naw, you are missing one of life’s great pleasures. I adore the chocolate-covered dried cherries from Trader Joes. Also the chocolate-covered candied ginger, but I suppose that’s not a fruit. And chocolate-covered citrus peel is the bomb.

I have some freeze-dried strawberries in the cupboard. They are surprisingly delicious. I’ve never had them dipped in chocolate, and the texture might not work. But the flavor would.

(My husband sometimes makes chocolate covered strawberries to impress guests. They are made with fresh strawberries, and are delicious.)

Chocolate covered apricots aren’t my favorite, but I like them.

They aren’t bad. It’s best to let them rehydrate a bit before eating them.

Black licorice actually killed a dude, so while Raisinets arranged in concentric pentagrams might actually contain Breadmaker, I think black licorice wins as worst.

For the dark chocolate lovers, what’s the highest proportion of cacao you enjoy? We got a 95% bar on substitution and it was too much.

70% is the highest I can still enjoy for Dark Chocolate.

I hated black licorice as a kid, but I’ve grown fonder of it over the years. Yes, an excess can make you ill, or even kill you, but that’s a LOT of licorice. More than any normal person would want. I don’t eat candy much in general, so my licorice consumption is limited to the occasional bag of all sorts if someone gives me one.

Probably around 70-ish… but have to be in the right mood for it. Ghiradelli chocolate squares come in some pretty intense levels.

I keep 70% and 85% around the house. The 70% is candy. The 85% isn’t, really, but it can be a nice snack.

I remember as a kid not liking anything more than about 50%, but my sense of taste has dulled since then.

I haven’t really fine tuned what percentage of chocolate I like to say here. My guess is that 95% would be like bakers chocolate and too much though.
