Worst popular candies

I subscribe, although I do like Reese’s. Good and Plenty is delicious, spice drops are great, and circus peanuts are tasty.

Yeah - I do that occasionally. If I’m in line at the grocery store and want a treat to eat at the moment - a reece’s is just a bad choice though.

Yeah, you’re right on that.

I don’t eat cheap chocolate anymore that isn’t frozen. Hershey’s chocolate tastes very good to me when it’s frozen, I think because it doesn’t melt in my mouth before I swallow it.

Yes, my wife sometimes freezes chocolate - it is good that way. I also like frozen red grapes - that was something I learned from a Miami Beach hotel that gave them out at poolside treats.

How has no one said candy corn yet? Truly vile. Just thinking about the flavor makes me a little sick.

Sacrilege!!! Candy corn is awesome. I only allow myself one bag a year: when it goes on sale after Halloween. But it is the bomb.

I’m a candy corn fan, too. And buy about one bag a year.

I like circus peanuts, but the concept has always seemed very strange.

I can sit and eat candy corn until it stops tasting good - but then I just keep eating it…

Candy corn is great. Indian corn is even better.

Once, I had a cinnamon flavored candy corn that was to die. I think it was made by a small shop because I can’t find it since.

Candy corn tastes like what I imagine eating a candle would taste like. I guess that’s more of a controversial opinion than I thought, although even the Wikipedia article on candy corn makes a reference to how divisive it is…

Not a bad comparison if the candle has a whole lot of sugar in it.

This would be for the Worst popular candles thread

I got this as a gift from grandparents once and have since bought it for myself a couple of times. So so good.

I agree with many of the prior submissions: candy corn, circus peanuts, bit o honey and peeps are some I don’t care for.

Others I’ll take a pass on: tootsie rolls, starburst, necco wafers. Do they still make those wax cola bottle things? those are vile.

A candy store in an aging local mall is going out of business. So far I’ve relieved them of 3+ lbs of jelly belly jellybeans - you can select from maybe 40-50 flavors - at a 25%-40% discount and we will see if there is more to be had tomorrow noon.

Don’t forget those buttered popcorn ones if you want to keep up with the theme of this thread.

My mom bought my kids some circus peanuts candy in Easter shapes. Too bad I’m off sugar, or I would eat the crap out of them.

Funny story about Passover candy. My wife bought a box of chocolate covered ring jells last year on an impulse. Neither of us were especially motivated to open the box. So a few weeks ago I jokingly offered a ring jell to anyone who could find me in a music video. A friend of mine said she saw me, and since I was planning to pick up a cake from her later that week, I said I would bring a few ring jells. She said that she was really excited since it was her favorite Passover candy and was bummed that she couldn’t find it in the supermarket. So my wife and I agreed to give her the whole box.

Hmm, I like the fruit slices, but the chocolate-covered ring jells don’t do anything for me. I mean, they are sweet… But that’s about it.

I like the ring jellies. As a kid we would get them in small, bite-sized logs instead of rings. We would call them jelly royals for some reason.
