Look, people who want to cheat at Wordle can, easily (if they just pay attention).
I like the simplicity of the game, and, as I say elsewhere, I kind of use it as an indication of how my day will go (esp as an indication that I’m screwing up, bc in a few cases I’ve missed that I had used a letter before, even though it’s on the frickin keyboard on the page).
I thought this one was hard. The letters go together in unusual ways. I’m obviously not playing in hard mode. I went with the starting pair i used yesterday (court, means) and on the third guess i moved some of them around but also checked two new letters. Once i had all five letters it still took me a while to get it, though.
Hard mode doesn’t appeal to me. I used to love mastermind as a kid. Most of the other kids used “hard mode” even though the game says nothing about that. I thought it was usually worth “wasting” a guess that i knew couldn’t be the answer to get more information.
Is there any chance most people use the same first word every game and she’s able to figure out the word based on the group’s results? That’s the only non-cheating angle I can come up with.
Idk. At first she was getting 3s, 4s and 5s like everyone else.
Scrolling back through her posts, she got her first 2 on 1/16, then 3s and 4s, then another 2 on 1/24, with the comment “This has never happened to me before!!” Umm, yeah just last week, you forgot??
Then the next day a 1, followed by 8 2s a couple of 3s and 2 1s in a row. Which makes me think she’s just playing in two browsers and just posting from the second one.
