Not sure. People in different time zones could play a certain daily game a day before or after someone else, but you should only be able to play one on a given calendar date according to your phone’s calendar. I am trying to reproduce on a developer phone to try to trace it, but haven’t been able to. I don’t stay up past 12 much so I am trying to do it by changing the clock which might not work.
Presumably it is the iPad’s clock when I am playing on an iPad, as I almost always am.
These threw me at first, but I suspect I know what’s going on.
How can APSF have more points than me on the daily puzzle, but not be ahead of me for Today, when all my points are from the daily puzzle?

Must be that my Today starts at midnight my time, so APSF solved Today’s puzzle on my yesterday
There is a date saved to the database for daily points total and another for when the daily puzzle was solved. My guess is that they played their first game of yesterday on your yesterday that set the points date and then they played the daily puzzle on their yesterday, but your today. When it checks the first date, it sees their today’s points total is not for your today, but it sees the daily puzzle was solved for your today. I could probably solve this issue by adding a puzzle number to the daily puzzle so I check puzzle number instead of date. Maybe in the next version. Working on an update to my hangman game now though so it would be after that is done.
The present system seems OK. Using puzzle number wouldn’t change anything, would it? I.e., this morning ASDF’s 395 and my 365 were for the same puzzle. Later in my today, when ASDF could play a new puzzle before I could, his score wouldn’t show up on my Daily Puzzle leaderboard until that new puzzle would be available to me. That seems right.
So today’s puzzle isn’t the hardest or people playing it are really smart. I am going to go with the latter as it makes me feel better

Extremely lucky to solve it today, though I think it was pretty unlucky on the way to 6 strikes. But there I was, no strikes left, with lubing and cubing both still possible. Last chance. Well, I can at least get one more letter before the 50-50;guess. But no, I now am faced with BU_ING. So now it’s easy from the remaining letters
Confirming the bad luck earlierI got my strike on S when I thought that word might be BUSING. If only I had tried the B then. Or maybe it wouldn’t have helped. I don’t remember which strike S was, so even if I guessed B before S I would still have guessed S.
Just played a few minutes ago. Not my best day either. The remove 3 letters helped although I had a ton of strikes by the time I used it.
:swear: game owes me some points. Was doing great. No strikes, 2 complete words and 3 letters on the last. Then a strike. So eliminated 3 letters. Only the ad (one of the very annoying ones for Royal Match) wouldn’t end. Tried and tried. Finally had to close the app. Then when reopened I took 2 more strikes before solving. But instead of first game 3 strike score, I get second game 2 strike score. At least (as is common for me) I still got the “get first on the daily leaderboard" badge credit by playing soon after midnight, when usually any score is good enough for #1
Hate when that happens and I also am not a fan of the Royal Match ads. I do try to keep my apps bug and crash free as best as I can. In fact, almost all of the reported issues (ie when the app actual shuts down and the user shares the anonymous crash data with apple) are due to when my app has to interact with the outside phone environment (ie the user takes a phone call while playing or goes to another app and comes back). Unfortunately, I don’t control the ads. I initiate the ad and then I receive control back from the ad when the user hits the little close x on the ad. If the ad hangs, I can’t do anything but apologize. Hopefully, it is a rare occurrence.
Baffled. Thought I had a 725 today. Strike must have been an unintended touch that I didn’t even notice at the time. On the bright side whenever I get my first strike I eliminate 3 letters. Not knowing of the strike I didn’t, so didn’t sit thru the ad
I was happy today as I got to the last letter with no strikes and usually there are 2-4 potential letters. Today there was only 1. I feel like I got 725 in spirit a couple of days ago as I got 3 strikes with my first 3 guesses and then solved it with no further strikes.
Been on a very bad streak. Last 4 games, including today, were 275/275/305/275. Worst of them was the first. In each I dropped 3 letters after my first strike. Normally, and in ganes 2,3,4, the dropped letters didn’t help much. Not letters I would guess early, and maybe letters I would be unlikely to guess in these games as I learned more. In game 1, the first of the 275s, one of the drops was an O, and that definitely saved me a strike
I did ok today. Got the last two words with no strikes, but then it took a few strikes to get the first one. They have been hard the last few days. One of the first two that you got 275 on, I didn’t even get on the first time through. Problem was the second time through, I couldn’t remember all the letters I had guessed. Should have taken a screenshot before the last strike.
GRRR. All but one letter with no strikes. Finished one strike. think it was a 50-50 before the strike. Guessed, wrong, eliminated 3 anyway, sure enough, the other choice was still there and was right. There was another I thought might conceivably be a word, and it didn’t get eliminated, but I still doubt it was a word.
Same result. Different path. Got my first strike after my first few guesses. Last letter had a choice of 3 possibles to guess from and happened to guess right.
I’m curious about the Test Subject Zeta character.
