This thread is making me hungry
age 50. I don’t believe there is a cost.
Hmmm, do they check? I’m 46.
There is a cost, but it’s super cheap. Like $10-15 a year I think and even cheaper per year if you sign up for multiple years. I renewed my mom’s membership a couple years ago.
I guess when i was a kid i might have wanted a donut every day. It’s hard to remember feeling that way. I guess that’s evidence that I’m old.
I show the AARP card
Krispy Kreme doughnuts when they’re hot and just off the production line?
Your question might be better phrased as, “who the hell wants ambrosia every day?”
Most of the non-casino KK’s I’ve visited haven’t been shy about giving free samples when the hot light is on, as most people aren’t coming in for just a single doughnut. Giving away the freebies just primes the pump, and presumably there are some people who will buy more after their craving is stoked.
my good memories of eating donuts from my childhood are completely negated by the bad memories of having acid reflux in my adulthood.
You haven’t had the ones with cream? I love them! But they are not super close to me either. And that’s probably a good thing.
Man, I am craving a cream filled KK donut now. But I’m having chocolate birthday cake tonight.
one donut really isn’t a ton of calories depending on which one you pick and if you really only stick to one.
the gym is a month by month membership. rather than demand my money back, i can cancel. i haven’t been there in over a year due to covid. probably should have cancelled. i need the elliptical there though to try and fix what’s going on with my joints and i can’t fit one in my apartment. there are other locations. i’d have to walk a little further.
was mostly joking about joining the free gym, and also it’s in new jersey anyway. but free is tempting!
yeah one donut is only 300 calories.
Back in college I used to use them to gain weight. I’d eat like a dozen a day.
But, I still struggled to gain weight. That’s when I realized donuts don’t actually have a lot of calories.
I don’t think there is an age requirement at all for AARP anymore.
That risk management stuff you wrote for me? It’s killer!
Oh, it’s gold, Jerry! Gold! I got all these corporate gigs!
This gets into my argument about fines and fees disproportinately affecting poor people. A $200 speeding ticket is a huge burden on someone making $500/week. Not such a big deal for someone making $2000/week or more.
Yeah, and a lot of those fines are BS, especially if they fund the police.
