soon you will be able to shoot lasers out of your eyes and be invincible.
I am amazed how closely your dates tracked with mine! Difference was in the sourcing: I had 5 Pfizer shots before my Moderna this week.
Why did you decide on J&J?
I wasn’t certain I’d be eligible for a booster, and signed up for a study, and that’s what they were studying. By the time they actually jabbed me, i was eligible for a booster in the general marketplace, but i decided to go through with the study. I’m glad i did, it was generally a good experience. The big J&J study it was part of was actually rather frustrating (they still haven’t unblinded it, so i know i got j&j, but don’t know the dose) but the small local study that ran concurrently was great. They published several papers, and i know i had a decent cellular immune response because every single participant in my branch did.
Ugh, lesser side effects my foot. I’m up in the middle of the night with chills. They kicked in just 11 hours after vaccination, which is consistent with the “8-12 hours later” I’m finding online.
I’m glad i did this yesterday. I don’t have anything i really need to do until Monday.
In happier news, my arm isn’t any worse than it usually is from the flu shot.
Ugh, I’m sorry! I have had side effects with every single shot.
I’m mostly better today. Just a little achy. I don’t think I’ve ever had chills before, but apparently it’s a fairly common vaccine side effect.
I can deal with a moderate amount of pain, but chills are unbearable. That’s usually my breaking point for taking pain relievers.
I’ve had chills from all of my COVID jabs. Not fun.
Do pain relievers help? I bundled up, until i was warm enough to get back to sleep. Then i woke up a few hours later because i was overheated.
I don’t know if I’m tired today from the vaccine, or from having so much trouble sleeping last night. I suppose it doesn’t matter.
Ick. I’ve had aches and tiredness. This is the first time i had chills. I’ll be happy if i don’t go through that again.
You’re getting chills because your body is working up a fever. NSAIDs and Tylenol break the fever, and stop the chills (at least for me). I know it’s working when I start breaking a sweat. I would much rather be overheated than struggling with chills, because a cool shower can help cool me down, but a hot bath won’t fix that cold in my bones feeling.
I guess your chills are worse than what i dealt with. My down sleeping bag was enough to warm me up.
Got Flu & COVID last night. Think a lot of folks had the same idea to go Friday after work as we waited a little over an hour in a massive line at Kaiser.
The had Pfizer only so I’m M^3P^2 now.
Sore arm a bit this morning, a bit of lethargy and a slightly sore throat that may or may not be related to shots. But all in all so far no “bad” side effects, fingers crossed it stays that way.
Sorry to hear about the bad reactions. I have been lucky in that I only had a sore arm for a max of 48 hours with each of my six COVID shots and no other side effects whatsoever. Flu shots have only provided mild arm soreness for less than a day.
Maybe the pharmaceutical companies are watering down the vaccines they sell to Canada since they don’t get paid as much for them as in the US ?
All better now. I think that was my worst reaction yet, though.
Jaspbrother highly recommends the covid one, so I’ll consider it. But not until after I stop not feeling well. Got that generic “I hope I’m not getting sick” pre-sick feeling. I doubt it’s related to the flu shot though, since usually if I’m gonna react to that I would have by now.
Only effect I had was a sore arm but not sure if it was from the flu and/or covid vaccine.
Alternate.
My COVID was canceled for low stock, so only got the flu which felt fine. Little sore for 24 hours.
COVID is now rescheduled for Thursday! Will be shot #7 for me. Seems like a great time before I start mingling with family.
