Will you get the vaccine as soon as available to you?

Oh that’s fair, I didn’t read your OP, just the response to it, so didn’t get the context. Yeah, they were probably a pharmacist with an annoying level of ambition!

Red Rocks enticing concert-goers with a free shirt and drink if they get a shot. Nice.

someone was telling me that she personally knows 2 people who had a brain hemorrhage soon after getting pfizer. that seems like a lot of people to know personally to have the same thing happen. has this been looked into as a thing?

also, about time pfizer gets knocked off it’s throne as the golden child of vaccines. J&J’s rep has suffered enough.

 vaccine jealousy?

i keep seeing news about this new great aspect that has been discovered about pfizer, and, well, J&J feels upset.

we still have Rachel though.

I had (slight) side effects with Moderna and apparently I’ll probably get more with round 2, you don’t get to be jealous :judge:

yeah, i pretty much avoided all side effects other than a sore arm from the vaccine. i was in the middle of some really bad joint pain unrelated to vaccines, and didn’t want to feel sick even more, thus J&J, and accomplished that goal.

Are you sure it was unrelated? There have been reports of joint pain from old injuries flaring up post vaccine. Two family members complained that they experienced this symptom before I realized it was a thing.

I can’t be 100% positive, but since the issue was happening before the vaccine, and I had zero pain on my other side, I’m guessing it was not vaccine related. I think it got worse after the vaccine, but I walked home a few miles from the vaccine site, and walking too much would make it worse at that point. Now I think I’m in a little better shape than I was then, and I walked a bunch to no additional pain last weekend, but when I got the vaccine, walking too much could result in much pain, and walking too much was the reason I went to physical therapy in the first place. So, I’m going with it having nothing to do with the vaccine.

If there is truly a link to old injuries acting up due to vaccines, but my old injuries were already acting up anyway, there really is no way to know for certain.

Sounds unlikely. Do you trust her to be reporting accurately from personal knowledge? Not many sources I would believe that from, except of course the mole.

She wouldn’t lie. ao person who didn’t migrate here. It does seem very strange to me (the 2 cases, not the not migrating here part).

That’s largely because Pfizer has been studied more than the others. In particular, Israel negotiated early access in exchange for tons of data from their centralized health system, but it’s been widely used and widely studied around the world.

My 12 y.o. daughter gets her first shot tomorrow morning - so exciting!

I mean, did you lick your fingers clean? That would be of moderate risk of exposure if the virus was on your hands. Otherwise, seems very low risk to me for a vaccinated individual.

There was another guy getting his vaccine at the same time as me, wearing a USMC shirt with a big American flag on it. I try not to judge based on appearance, but he really looked like somebody who would be in the vaccine hesitant crowd. If he is a vet, as his shirt implied, he’s been eligible for months through the VA. I wonder if he just decided “What the heck? I’m going to Walmart anyway to pick up some more flag t-shirts. Why not get my vax too?”

I’m also a bit paranoid because I’m about to go on vacation, and the resort requires that you be free from germs to be there. They have temperature checks every day.

I suppose it’s may though, and therefore other than COVID, there aren’t that many germs spreading. :grimacing:

sad that the american flag and patriotism in general has pretty much become a sign of being part of a cult.

I hope I’m wrong. I hope he was as eager to get that vaccine as I was.
