Lobster rolls while work traveling is for high roll ers
My sister lived in Bar Harbor for a while and it cracked me up that Mc Donalds there (well, in Ellsworth, as there is no McD in Bar Harbor) had lobster rolls on the menu.
The McLobster
Cleaning lady coming at 11:30, so late lunch (and light, donāt want to mess up kitchen)
So wanted a heavy breakfast. Made a quesadilla (for lack of a better word)
Two Keto/Low carb wraps. Humus, Potlagel (Romanian Baba ghanoush - made by wife), sauteed spinach and mushrooms, Swiss. I need to brand it - so good.
That does sound yummy.
Iāve long thought I hated instant ramen. Turns out, I really like it! At least, I like this kind, with a healthy dollop of gochujang and black vinegar. I eat it most days lately!
And no, I donāt intend to continue eating it this often, Iām aware of the sodium content.
I had to grab something, so went with Panda.
My local grocer has a pretty healthy amount of international foods (I mean, Iām in Kansas, so maybe adjust expectations accordingly). The Asian section has about a half-dozen brands of ramen and Nongshim is my favorite. Speaking of, I need to see if they sell the black vinegar you recommended.
We eat it somewhat regularly but we have a ramen place in town that we also love, and we get that a fair amount.
If they have black vinegar, itās likely to be gold plum; itās the most popular brand!
I just finished reading this Japanese book called
The Kamogawa Food Detectives. The chef made this dish for someone called tonkatsu. I mistakenly thought it was the ramen broth that I like. Turned out it was deep- fried pork cutlets. The broth is called tonkotsu. One vowel change and we have two different dishes
I suppose you can make a tonkatsu and put it over a tonkotsu ramen dish.
Iām hungry now.
I had chicken fingers and fries at Applebeeās last week. It was like being a kid again!!!
Two straws one check?
Or $100 tip?
didnāt bring a lunch so i went to the school cafeteria (which is pretty good by school cafeteria standards) ⦠spicy chicken sandwich today; pretty slammin actually
(the tater tots on the side were just meh)
(ā¦and yes, if you have first lunch, your ālunchā is at 10:14
so itās more like second breakfast)
Iāve said it before, Iāll say it again. When youāre in PEI, itās actually perfectly legal to have lobster for two meals a day. Imagine that, thereās literally no laws against it.
Pizza, itās been a while, my closest pizza joint sells a 10ā pie and a drink for $6.75. One of the best deals in town.
Holy cow, thatās a deal.
A new cheesesteak place opened near work and I gave it a try.
I attempted some marinated eggs, I used this recipe and it smells very good. Will see in another two hours how they turned out, with my ramen lunch.
Wut? A marinated egg? Never heard of such a thing.
I really need to up my ramen game.
Lunch for me was supposed to be a couple slices of pizza. Then my son dropped in and of course makes a beeline for the fridge, and there goes lunch.
Marinated eggs are what made me a ramen fan. When we get ramen from restaurants here Iāll add in 3+ eggs. Really elevates the game.
