More like on one of the busiest streets in town with only a few houses within walking distance.
I usually buy things that I don’t really like so I won’t eat them. This time I got those small bags of popcorn and pretzels. I don’t care much for them especially the pretzels. They’re always making me thirsty.
It’s in the 40s and raining. I should’ve said to take 10.
We have been leaving out a bowl with candy these past few years so both of us can go out with the kids
Normally we just buy a big bag of whatever Halloween candy we see when we are out shopping for groceries
This year it was ghost toast Kit Kats. I am very pleased that we have lots left over
Bought full size, donating leftovers to school concessions.
My wife, a devoted chocolate lover, is pursuing extra-healthy natural eating for various health reasons right now (and I’m trying to follow along in her wake). She purchased our candy this year: Starburst and Life-Savers (hard and chewy). Toward the end of the night, I was urging double-handfuls. We have just a little left, that my teenagers should finish before the end of the weekend.
One of the bags that I bought was green zombie themed Twix and Snickers. I don’t think a single kid picked one.
We were next town over on a date night when we realized that ours happened last Saturday. (My town does it during scheduled hours on the Saturday before.) So, .
School also asked to send 2 bags with kid for party. Mrs G interpreted that as a Costco sized bag. They returned leftovers. We have a metric ton of fun size stuff as well.
Please change thread title to What’s your Halloween candy eating strategy?
I was wondering about something. I live alone but I could see yesterday kids seemed to play me and now I wonder if they have an information sharing network about where the good candy or the generous place is.
You could be in a woody Allen movie .
My wife has done this for years, super popular, especially for the younger kiddos.
We do this for valentines instead of paper cards and candy. We get slime, fidget toys, sticky hands, stuff like that, and they’re always a big hit. I should do this next year for Halloween too (but then how would my husband enjoy sampling them beforehand?)
I could see it being time-based as well. We started much more generously but had to ration towards the end. Meanwhile, another neighbor may have started out stingily but became more generous when they realized they had a lot left over. Dynamic treating.
Even if toys are typically for women, they are also made for men. Not halloween-appropriate for kids tho.
I think next year I want to go all actuary on this, and work out which candies are more popular. I do have to factor in that the smaller packets can slip through the cracks (say Starburst vs Skittles). There’s probably been a study done (although it would have to be not funded by the candymakers) on which are the most popular.
Lol I was thinking the same. I am going to be full time USA from December this year.
:applause:
you want my address? I have teenagers who will eat just about anything.
