So you could start a poll on that subject and precisely define every term, or you could leave it a little more loosely defined and find out how people define the terms. Then you’d be less perplexed when people use terms in a way different than you’d use them.
But if the terms are ill defined, then how do you know if you’re talking about the same thing?

Yes, I’ve supported the right of employers and venue owners to enforce mandates. In fact, i have mandated vaccination for parties in my back yard. My goal wasn’t to pressure anyone to get vaccinated, though. It was to hold a party that was safe for the attendees, who included immune compromised people and their family members. So that’s not actually an example of “approaches to get more people vaccinated”, it’s just “options that interested parties ought to have.”
You use your words to define what you mean.
But when you’ve been asked for your words to define, you don’t, so…

What does that even mean? You want to poll people randomly, rather than get results based on them knowing what the poll is asking?
Or, is it really that you only care about “feels” and not actual policy? How do people felt about the word “force”, without any reference as to what is meant by the word “force”?

I wasn’t expecting to be able to publish the results, if that’s what you’re getting at.
But I did, kind of unexpectedly, but also happily, discover that people are quite willing to quickly tighten their definition of words such as “force” when it becomes necessary protect their world views.
She’s asking questions there, not saying that’s what we should do. She probably just thought it was an interesting line of thought.

So, i said i oppose government mandating what employers do. Then i observed that what we’ve done hasn’t worked very well, and speculated that mandates might actually help people with heart attacks get into emergency rooms. So I’m waffling. Fair enough.
Fwiw, i also “know” (not personally, but in a message board sort of way) a person who waited until Monday to get critical medical care for a dangerous infection because their local emergency room is full due to covid. That was weeks into a thread about this person’s medical issues, and it didn’t start or being about covid. It was just an ordinary personal thread that suddenly took a turn from “unpleasant medical problem” to “life threatening medical problem” this weekend.
So that does seem like a real problem, and one with some urgency.
And i would say that people seem quite willing to expand the normal definition of “force” to exaggerate the impact of OSHA regulations.

As I said to SteveWhite, if that’s consistent with all other uses of the word “force” allowing a choice as a requirement to keep a job, go for it.
So, if asked to choose a food item off a menu of things that have unclear ingredients, how do you know in fact what you’re choosing? It wasn’t like you’d asked how people would define the choices, yet you found different interpretations as interesting,
And I know (personally, but not in a message board sort of way) lots of people who express vaccine hesitant opinions. That forms the basis for my opinion of the better way to achieve what I perceive to be your goal, which in turn would help people in the position of your message board acquaintance.
