What did you do this weekend?

Wife caught the flu that I caught from the kid, so it was just lying around.

At one point we went to the park, and found in the Little Lending Library a practice Bar Exam? So we went back and forth playing the Tort/Contract law game.

Well, reading that is 5 minutes of my life I won’t get back. Plus another 2 minutes posting my response to it.

Bump…
Preparing for a Family Easter Dinner at our house. 35 or so people. It will be raining all day here (high of 58F), so people are already canceling not to drive in it. Plan is for old people to eat inside, younger people to eat outside (under heaters).

Geez, that’s a lot of folks. I think we’re having 20 and that’s a houseful.

I’ll make a final count and report it. Can do that during the prayer circle.
we don’t live too close to any of the family, as most are 25-30 miles from us, and we usually travel to these affairs. But, we have a refurbed house and refurbed outdoor (covered) areas.
My brother and family will be there. That’s four from my side. The rest is my wife’s family. Cousins (five) and their families (four each). Aunts, uncles, and the contractor (and family, four) who took care of the indoor and outdoor refurb.

Our London daughter and family arrived last week so all my children and grandchildren are here for Easter. We have rented a house in Ucluelet for the 14 of us for a weekend of beach walks and rainforest hikes.

Mets home openner Friday

Out with friends for dinner and a band we follow, Saturday. I think eight of us

Probably going to be catching up on stuff at home. Mrs. H won’t be back until Sunday, weather will be kind of crappy. Tomorrow will probably be the day to get stuff done, and with no work I just need to make a list and grind through it.

It’s better for everyone IMO.

rehung my secondary and tertiary golf ball racks and two old license plates in my garage. After new gas meter installation.

Hung a picture frame, involving moving two other frames on our vacation wall.

Got my car inspected

Going to the Mets game on Sunday

Currently in the middle of the annual tire migration. 5 sets of summer tires from the back shed, replace 5 sets of snows, migrate the snows back to the shed.
Plus an oil change on my son’s gf’s car. Might not get all this done this weekend. Hauling that many tires is a lot more work than you’d think.

Hack:
Put one tire on the ground.
Roll rest of tires toward where you want them, preferably someone catching them, by dropping tire on the edge of the one on the ground.
Doesn’t work if shed is already downhill from destination. Hard flat surface preferable as well.

Mostly lying around on the couch.

Still setting up for Easter.
Installed front and rear speakers in family room. Refurb folks put in speaker wires, but i bought new speakers and speaker shelves.
Still have to install the outdoor TV. Mount is coming today.
Edit: and it’s here!
Still need an outlet installed. Wires and a box already exist.

  • grass seed on the bare spots on the lawn
  • other yard work cleaning out old growth / dead branches / dandelions
  • bought a trap for the squirrel in the attic
  • shopped for a tree (didn’t buy, not quite ready yet) to go in the front yard where one was cut down 2 years ago
  • practiced piano
  • watched White Noise (2/5 stars, do not recommend)

Sunday:

  • trail run (~6 miles)
  • set the trap for the squirrel
  • practiced piano
  • watched some basketball (last 4 minutes of Purdue win)
  • took kids to a restaurant for dinner

I put up the mount. It’s a strap-on (awaiting the ceasing of giggling), so if the need arises, I can move the TV somewhere else without glaring holes in the outdoor posts.
